Jesus went down to Jerusalem for Passover mainly because the Torah hardcore commands it, even when he knew some really nasty shit was about to go down. Peter asks him "maby we should skip it this time? For security reasons?" And gets called Satan for saying so.

The Torah gets the Jews to have to do some funky stuff sometimes. Jesus may have "tested" some Torah rules like washing your hands before eating, not getting food from the fields on Sabbath and not taking a footbath from a woman, but he was mostly legit.

Saint Thomas however was definitely exposed to Hinduism at the very least during his travels to India. But then again this was post their "screw this, we're outta here after this" Shavout/Pentecost party.

So how many of you spotted that my previous post was about Apollonius of Tyana? In some thread recently I took the piss out of Mary and Joseph's surprise that Jesus was a prodigy. The point is that the Gospels not only contradict each other but are internally contradictory. Who ever invented the story of Jesus in the temple had no knowledge of Luke's nativity story. If we look at the feeding stories. The story was probably originally invented as an oral story. The story got written down in two different versions with different numbers of people, loaves and fishes. Because they were already written, Mark assumed that they referred to two separate events.

Now its quite possible for such contradictory and absurd stories to attach themselves to historical figures, such as Caesar Augustus. However with Jesus we can quite easily see Jesus's progression from a figure whose cosmic dram was confined to the heavens to later being given an earthly biography.

Or maybe it's mostly based on Eyewitness accounts, and even though the authors are Jewish they will not always agree on stuff. They don't have access to all the information at once.

The story of young Jesus in the Temple serves an obvious Religious purpose as it is indeed essentially his Bar Mitzvah(Of Age) narrative. It was important to the author to explicitly point out he was 12 and teaching in the temple because this establishes "he was now a man, he can teach Torah now" and that is important in the religion of Judaism. It's so important a few hundred years ago they actually upgraded it, made the official age 13 and made it the official "super birthday party" ceremony we all know it as today. This would be important to communicate in the life story of a Jewish person.

Your assertion is idiotic when you realise the Authors are Jewish and they know what is required to happen religiously in a Jewish person's life, and the important milestones.

It's only "contradictory" to idiots that don't have a basic understanding of Jewish Psychology and culture. The text emphatically states "and when he was 12" for a purpose.

Who ever invented the story of Jesus in the temple had no knowledge of Luke's nativity story

Or maybe they were just JEWS, who felt the need to describe what happened at his Ancient equivalent of his Bar Mitzvah and your delibrately forgetting that important information and applying non-jewish Psychology to a Jewish authored biography.

Maybe your assertion sounds like absolute lunacy when you remember that fact.
