The Democrat party is considered to be a center right capitalist party by Marxists.

And again, they tend to shoot and exile actual Marxists.

Now, how do you define “leftist”?

His point was your narrative. You asked why leftist ideology doesn't attract masculine men and then agree that Leftist Soviet work ethic was masculine meaning it does. So you contradicted yourself.

Also within your original OP you only asked for an example of a masculine Leftist. If you agree Soviet leaders are masculine Leftists then you have your example ready made making this thread obsolete.

He was fit. he was healthy. You can't really get that big and strong without being that.

That Schwarzenegger is still alive and fit(at 72), demonstrates that very well, too. Quatzelok was just flinging poo.

Maybe he's still alive and fit despite what he did while lesser human beings couldn't have survived it.

Thank you, Beren, for finally making my point clear: that Arnie's grotesque body-building figure is only a sign of "masculinity" if your worldview has been seriously altered by the mass media from whence his celebrity was tapped.

It's a sick, Hollywood "masculinity," and this sickness is paralleled in the often fake and Hollywoodish "left" that is still walking the halls of our national politics. Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren aren't "left," they're "super-left" (but it's all fake, like Schwartzenegger's sperm count).

If the USA Democrats are "left," that means that cutting social programs to give all the tax dollars to crooked banksters is left. (Obama)

That means that bombing Third World nations to steal their resources is left. (too many to mention)

That means that imprisoning as many black men as possible is left. (too many to mention)

If these things that the Democrats (and Repubs) have championed are "left," then I think we all need to look in other directions (up?) to describe in what direction social equality and ecological sustainability are to be found.

Rancid wrote:I agree. Also 'men' that obsess over what masculinity is and isn't probably aren't masculine. A man knows if he's a man or not. He doesn't need other people to validate his masculinity. Further, he doesn't gossip like a little school girl about what physical features made a "real" man.

I don't know you, but I'm betting I'm a lot more masculine than you are. Who are you anyway? Tell me about yourself and what makes you so much more manly than me.

Fuck off bitch.

Well, actor Antonio Banderas would seem to be masculine enough. His leftist credentials, per Wikipedia:

In 1996, Banderas appeared among other figures of Spanish culture in a video supporting the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party lists in the general election.

In 2013, he called on Europe and the United States to emulate Hugo Chávez in Venezuela and nationalize big corporations as a solution to the global economic crisis.

I'm not the toughest guy but I'm certainly more of a man than Rancid.

I identify with masculinity and it forms an important part of my worldview. It always has.

I can see that the leftist crowd is seriously lacking in masculinity. And I'm not the only one who has pointed this out.

Godstud wrote:What about Che?

Che had serious health problems that severely limited his ability to project strength and confidence.

But he was definitely one of the cutest leftists of all time, and he brought the idea of "revolutionary medicine" to Cuba, which has saved millions of lives and extended health care to every corner of the earth through programs like Mas Medicos.

Brilliant, gorgeous, innovative, inspiring. But masculine?
