We need to take into account population growth ver the period in question. Reagan and Clinton are close to expected taking into account population change. So Trump isn’t much different in support from those presidents. Bush and Obama are the two who are below the norm.

the population of NH in 1984 was one million, in 95 it was 1.15 million, today it's 1.35 million, so population growth can't even account for half of it.

it could be population growth combined with shifting age demographics, but even still Trump's numbers are high.

50% is even steven. It's not high, and Trump has never hit 50. Never will.

The only way he wins is by cheating, just like last time.

It's not a red state so of course he won't. Anymore than more than 50% of CA or NY, they're the Dem heartland states. As well as the north-east generally

Tainari88 wrote:Obama was predictable and he thought he could get both sides to play patty cake together to make him look good. He was wrong as wrong can be. He also had to feed the deep state people, the bankers and the rest to survive politically. He did so. Because deep down Obama was a sellout and a predictable sellout.

Trump is not really a sellout. He is a conman out for himself without much awareness of who he needs to placate.

He has some ideas of where he wants to go. But it is not for the benefit of anyone but himself and the very wealthy who identify with his class.

Of course the deep state people and the banks, among many others are scared of Bernie. Socialists are a big pain the ass for bankers, and for the wealthy. In general. You study history and the reason there are term limits on the presidency was FDR. He was elected three times and if he had lived longer maybe a fourth or a fifth because his socialistic programs were working for the Great Depression fallout that happened after the crash of 1929. The threat to the rich capitalists like the Rothchilds and the Rockafellers and the DuPonts, J.P. Morgans of the world were socialists imploding their stranglehold on the money and the life blood of capitalism...he told them, "Cough up the cash via tax contributions or the unemployed masses and the reds, and the socialists will burn down your golden nest eggs...." Eleanor Roosevelt was a cousin of FDR and her partial education was in France with extreme liberalism and socialistic influences. Even though she came from wealth.

If you read these people's backgrounds it all becomes clear Fin. Puerto Rico for example had a famous photographer by the name of Jack Delano who took photographs of Puerto Rican life during the Great Depression and during WWII. FDR had enormous amounts of American socialists all over the place in Washington DC. The conservative elements wanted them out of DC and to be silenced and they compromised with FDR's New Deal if he would get them out of the capitol. FDR shipped out the majority of them to San Juan, Puerto Rico. They wound up there....creating and implementing all those FDR socialistic programs in Puerto Rico. To this day? The PPD (el Partido Popular Democratico) is influenced by the New Dealers there.

The PPD are called populares--and their most influential leader was Luis Munoz Rivera. He was a socialist his whole life. Socialism has very deep roots in Puerto Rico. He is considered a sellout by the pro Independence movement due to having compromised with the Roosevelt administration instead of forcing out independence while he had a chance. The Roosevelt administration promised investments in Puerto Rico to lift the peasants and the rural sugar can cutters and others who worked the land in Puerto Rico that were losing their lands to the great centrales who processed sugar to American banks who were snapping up property that was dirt cheap due to hurricanes, and the Great Depression forcing people off their farms to go to the city to find work.

It is a very interesting history.

The bankers and the industrialists with a lot of money and great profit margins hate socialists with a passion. They are the only politicians successful at stripping them of their greedy tendencies and forcing compromise. They fear them. It has always been that way. They prefer anyone who won't discipline them at all. The pro capitalist liberals and conservatives always can be contained. Like Trump. The socialists are coming for their heads. They know it too.

Yes FDR in my opinion was closer to being a dictator. He used branches of the government to attack his political rivals, he jailed Japanese Americans during world war II, stacked the supreme courts, and he apposed anti lying legislation. Like Trump he also was known for attacking the press but went much much further than Trump has or can. He was known to stretch the limits of the executive powers and by this he established the start of progessivism.

I found this paper interesting on FDR. https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm ... id=3123894

To me I don't see your description of Trump 100% as accurate but maybe we agree more than we disagree about it. If anything Trump is self serving of his ego which gives opportunity for his supporter to take advantage of his seemingly endless amount of political courage. Trump has now nominated a record amount of federal judges that follow constitutional law which is a great benefit to his supporters well beyond his usefulness. He has reestablished that accomplishments are the new standard over rhetoric. We can agree Obama had very little political courage. I just don't see the racism carrying out in policy. Perhaps just the opposite. I think many have been hood winked by the liberal media and the Twitter mob which has intellects believing they represent the popular opinion. The Democrats are in a major fight for survival especially since Trump understands there won't be much of a Democrat party left if he continues to convert the black vote to Republican. Most people don't care about this waxing poetically and philosophical political discussions. They simply want to know if their taxes are going up, they are protected, they are employed, and would like to have cheaper health care.

Something we can agree upon is yes a few people have amassed great wealth. I like to use the analogy of playing poker. The big stacks hold most of the poker chips and can bully( bluff) the small stacks with ease and little ramifications. I'm not sure how to address it politically but I don't see socialism as doing a good of it. My only ideas are that maybe certain institutions like banks and major business's once they reach a certain percentage of our countries GDP should be subject or tagged with a different status like MC Mega Corp. We now have individual, sole proprietorship's, LLC, and Corporations maybe there should be another category which holds a much higher standard and responsibility to the citizens. This accelerated wealth and cultural distribution that the extreme left demands is not going to work and doesn't play out well in this electoral presidential system we have. It certainly isn't something a president can accomplish in their first term because it will take a staggering amount of political courage to pull it off and with a congress that is stacked in their favor. I honestly don't see a Democrat president for the foreseeable future, for now liberalism has been knocked back. Possibly the Democrats may have to abandon the black vote for the brown vote, we still have who knows 20 to 30 million undocumented people that will eventually gain citizenship. That is a rich target environment for the Dems.

BTW I did check out Delanos photo amazing stuff!!!

I could not agree more. It is, however, a question of degree and how and where they decide to screw the little guy and Mother Nature. And, I never thought politicians were an especially brave bunch but it is really depressing to see 99% of one of America's main political parties behaving like pathetic spineless bastards with their noses up Donald's ass.

The depressing part is that, in times where weapons were less destructive it's easy to (temporarily) curb this problem with a war, but nowadays too many concerns make this an impractical option, and more and more oppressed people have to cling on.

The deep state people who partially run the government along with the banking industry, fossil fuel, defense contrator industry people are colluding to contain Trump who is unpredictable which destabilizes them a lot. They don't really care if Trump is anti liberal, or racist, or radical, or a failed businessman or is a grifter or a bunch of things. Nothing new on dirty politicians on the take on the Hill. The issue they have with him is that he is not stable and predictable and doesn't listen to some folks appropriately.

The government needs predictability Finfinder. Trump is highly unpredictable. He is not easy to figure how he reacts to things in a methodical way. Most politicians already know they need to be able to predict things in order to be consistent feeding the people who feed off of the executive branch power structure. He doesn't really understand that that is his primary role.

So? They are containing the leakage, and the damage and they have to keep the unpredictability elements contained. That is the reason his closest associates are being silenced, punished and or neutralized....got to keep the crazy carnival clown from becoming a bit off the rails and hard to contain in terms of what he spouts without any warning at 3am.

It is the deep state who are acting as a containment mechanism for that pig Prez 45. They are the ones trying to keep the USA in the best position of control. He is making their jobs difficult by not following rules.

What the deep state government don't like about the Trump of God is that he lets the people know things that the deep state government normally hide from the people.
Praise the Lord.

None the less, population growth accounts for some of the observed data. This still doesn’t explain away why Bush and Obama did so poorly in their second term election.

I think it is more that case that the establishment is unpopular, than that Trump is popular, if you follow my drift. This might explain why his approval ratings go up after every DNC impeachment attempt. The Dems are only showing everyone that Trump is not one of them. Thus distanced from the establishment, people throw their support behind him and against the despised establishment figures. Possibly this might be part of Bernie’s appeal too.

The problem with Bernie is that he is too radical for the normies. The rest of the DNC looks like a bunch of lying, dog-faced, pony soldiers. Wouldn’t you agree?

So it isn’t so much that everyone likes Trump as it is that everyone hates the establishment, as represented by people like Pelosi. When will they realise that it is not Trump that is the problem, it is them who are the problem. What do you think, @late ?

Maybe the Democrats are not as bad as we believe either.

Frankly, from what I see, it is usually harder for righteous people to unite, unless the threat (as many US citizens see in Trump and his allies) is too much to bear.

Yes and no. There are various factions within the DNC. Gabbard and Wang are OK. These people are recognised by most as being uncharacteristicly sane for a Democrat.

Then there is the establishment neo liberal faction, who are all about big business and the security state. EG; Pelosi and Schiff. This is the group that is widely unpopular. It includes the main stream media. Their credibility has been plummeting for a decade or two.

Finally, there are the commies. Bernie, AOC fall into this group. They have a small but fanatical support base that will use intimidation upto and including violence to ensure the more moderate groups stay in line. This group is rising to ascendancy in the DNC.

The neo liberal group is becoming more dependant of the radical left support base as they lose mainstream popularity. But the radical left would like to overthrow them and reform society in a socialist Mold.

So if the DNC was dominated by the Gabbards and the Wangs, it might be a force of positive progress. Alas, it is a chaotic ruin of the old guard neo liberals, gradually being taken over by commies. So there isn’t much good that can be said of it.

Unless you are a Trump. It is going to be very hard for him to lose given just how bad his opposition is.

The same element of unpredictability that impeached president Trump has used all of his life to keep his opponents off balance while he blew threw their money prior to declaring another bankruptcy has, I noticed, created an atmosphere of stink around him on the world stage. World leaders will be nice to him and provide him with podiums from which to spout unpredictable nonsense but, when it comes to making a deal, they will not engage him in anything more than odds and ends. It is a given that he lies endlessly and that his "word" is not worth the paper it is written on (as Nancy has recently demonstrated  ). His cult members take this display of hot air and lies as remarkable bravery while, realistically in terms of results, it is a remarkable display of incompetence. World leaders are, effectively, waiting him out and prefer to have nothing to do with him, The Great Deal Maker :?: .

Now Ms. Tainari 88 that you have been informed that you are up against The Trump Of God, perhaps you realize that you should join The Cult Of The Conned.
