On February 19th, the South Korean epidemic prevention department announced that 20 new patients with new type of coronary pneumonia were confirmed on the day. The 61-year-old“No.31 confirmed patient” is a believer of the famous cult in South Korea ——Shincheonji Church of Jesus the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and she was confirmed as a“super spreader ”.
After analyzing the activity track of “No. 31”, she is highly likely to be infected by her husband. The officials who were responsible for investigating the activity track of “No. 31 patient” and her family members revealed to the Korean media that the patient’s husband arrived in Daegu on the KTX from Dongdaegu Station to Ulsan Station on the morning of February 12, and watched a public performance from “Shen Yun Art Troupe” in Ulsan Culture and Art Center at that night. He returned to Daegu on the 13th and went to the hospital to take care of “No.31”, and did not visit large public places in the rest of the time. For now, the husband of “No. 31 super spreader”is being observed in isolation.

A 61-year-old woman known as 'Patient 31' may have infected at least 85 of the new patients linked to the secretive church. The new cases have nearly doubled the total of virus cases in South Korea from 104 to 204. It is feared that Daegu, where the church is located, could become the 'new Wuhan'. More than 400 members of the church are showing symptoms of the disease and over 600 Koreans may have been infected with the coronavirus.

Don't book any tickets for the Olympic games in Japan. It'll be cancelled or take place in empty stadiums.

Are you kidding! This is going to be the cheapest Olympics ever. Given it starts in July, just after the anticipated peak period of the pandemic, there will be cheap airfares, cheap tickets, cheap accomodate and very few other people in attendance. The only word of advice to anyone going, is don’t bother trying to scalp tickets.

They are still in the denial stage, what cannot be must not be allowed to happen. But that is of little concern to the virus, which may become endemic.

Tokyo 2020 Olympic organisers on Saturday (Feb 22) postponed training for their army of volunteers due to the coronavirus outbreak but reiterated that there was "no consideration" of cancelling the Games.

"We will evaluate the immediate need for each Games-related event on a case-by-case basis," organisers said, adding that participants at Tokyo 2020 events would be asked to take preventative measures to stop the spread of the disease.

"I can confirm Tokyo 2020 remains on track," top IOC official John Coates said last week in Tokyo, while Games CEO Yoshiro Mori has criticised "irresponsible rumours" about the Games.
