I don't have the full context but she shot him at least twice; once in the back. Commenters are saying that the white victim is dead. I'd be particularly interested in hearing what our commenters @Politics_Observer and @late have to say about this.

She could have shot her own partner while he was struggling with the suspect. What a way to end Black History Month :eh:

Without all of the facts, we'll see if the media is even interested in reporting in the shooting of an unarmed white man, let alone what led up to this incident.

It was hard to see everything that was going on in the video. It seems the suspect got a hold of one of the officers taser guns which is what resulted in an escalation of force. Plus, you can't see in the video if the officer shot the guy in the back on the second shot fired. That being said, this is a case of a suspect resisting arrest when he shouldn't have and bad things happen when you do. The shooting is tragic any way you look at it, but if you are dealing with the police here in America, it's best to comply with the officer's commands.

NPR talks about a study where white police officers are not as likely to use deadly force on black suspects and black officers are just as likely as white officers to use force on black suspects. I am assuming the same could be said of black officers using force on white suspects. According to Joseph Cesario being interviewed by NPR he states: "The race of a police officer did not predict the race of the citizen shot. In other words, black officers were just as likely to shoot black citizens as white officers were." According to the interview, this study came from Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. However, another thing that is factual is that black suspects are more likely to be shot by police officers. Here is a link to the mp3 interview below:
