Yes, it partially does, because multinationals bribe the hell out of American politicians and get virtually everything they ask for, whereas ordinary Americans get nothing they ask for.
Also, organized crime is always part of how multinationals work (all capitalism, in fact, uses organized crime), and organized crime is there to subvert democracy.
Likewise, the corporate government uses war and false flag emergencies to subvert democratic movements by making everyone fearful and stupid.
They also provide lots of useless news pieces to take attention away from places they don't want us to look.
