Oppose NUJ censorship of journalist Craig Murray!

On the eve of Monday’s extradition hearing for Julian Assange, Britain’s National Union of Journalists (NUJ) is continuing its anti-democratic efforts to muzzle journalist Craig Murray.

For six months, the NUJ Executive has refused Murray’s application for union membership. The effect has been to deny Murray press accreditation to cover the extradition hearing in USA v Assange, which resumes for up to four weeks on Monday.

^ that sucks. Craig Murray - ex U.K. ambassador - is being fucked with by the law for his coverage of the Alex Salmond case too. He's been a consistently good analyst on various things, including destroying the Skripal conspiracy theory, so I guess he's a target too.

Anyway...

I doubt this will change anything. They will continue to spy on everyone and target/torture whistleblowers.

:D

I mean, they're still planning on extraditing Assange.

There's some talk of canceling the case and starting a new one. To start after the election. Who knows what's going to happen in the court next week...

I remember Hindsite wanting to throw Assange in prison for exposing US military malfeasance. Now he'd suck his toes.

Assange extradition hearing: WikiLeaks exposed US drone killings, torture and rendition, says Guantanamo Bay lawyer

In the afternoon session, Professor Mark Feldstein continued his expert witness testimony, discontinued late on Monday due to technical problems. Feldstein, a professor of Broadcast Journalism at the University of Maryland with 20 years’ experience as an investigative reporter, said Assange’s prosecution was politically motivated, part of President Donald Trump’s “campaign against the press.”
