Can you believe it? Stealing a pack of Gobstoppers from your local CVS is no longer a felony level crime with a mandatory prison sentence of 5-7 years, society has gone to shit. So many people were going to jail because they were stealing stuff because they were poor that they lessened the sentencing guidelines for property theft against a corporation. My fucking stars and garters.

Says an idiot.

Wulfschilde wrote:I forgot about this. It's not just NY city that has these issues, in SF they downgraded shoplifting to a misdemeanor and so combined with a lack of bail laws, people just walk into stores and clear them out.

It was always a misdemeanor. Felony shoplifting was $400 or more, and they raised that to $950. They no longer make arrests for misdemeanor shoplifting. They just give you a notice to appear like a traffic ticket. Some stores don't prosecute shoplifting either, but they have done things like put more expensive liquor under lock and key. Blacks complain about black hair and make-up products being under lock and key, because they have a very high "shrinkage" rate.

This is accelerating the trend toward online shopping, where shrinkage is not a significant issue.

I've noted this before: if you want to pick up a Ralph Lauren Polo at Macy's, you need to get it unlocked first. If you know your size, it's frankly just easier and cheaper to buy it online.

Wulfschilde wrote:We'll get at least 100 days of consecutive protests in Portland and a Democrat cannot cope with New York city's budget problems, so it's just going to keep getting worse in these places. Stuff is like out of an 80's or 90's movie.

Yes, the "no go" zones of the 70s and 80s are back with a vengeance. The media is covering a lot of stuff up as well. I spoke with a friend who was doing some work with the Oakland PD. He said that when they get some calls, the neighborhood tells the police to leave the neighborhood. If they have a social worker on scene, the police leave it to the social workers. I've heard of a case, were the insane guy ended up beating the shit out of the social worker, and then they call the police who then drag their feet. The media is not reporting, and I don't have independent verification, so I would just call this anecdotal. However, I know from friends who are police that they are not conducting a lot of arrests anymore.

SpecialOlympian wrote:So many people were going to jail because they were stealing stuff because they were poor that they lessened the sentencing guidelines for property theft against a corporation. My fucking stars and garters.

There are people who break into cars at police impound lots and do not get prosecuted. There are people who steal police cars and abandon them who do not get prosecuted. It's frankly what's happening these days, and so there is little wonder why disorder--mostly in places inhabited by poorer people and minorities--is prevailing. So what will happen? Exactly what happened in the past. Crime rates soar, property prices collapse, property tax revenues collapse, schools fail, and you have an inter-generational cycle of poverty.

If you vote for the left...Be prepared to get the left overs from the Antifa Loving, BLM Supporting, Police Defunding, Communist Democrats. Democrats ruin everything they touch or sign. America's Democrat run cities are getting destroyed by criminals and will have to start giving their police a Bonus for every criminal that they apprehend that does not complain about the arrest procedure or dies in the process of being arrested. Liberal Politicians (AKA Communists) are a menace to America's taxpaying legal citizens. Since a Socialist society will never accept a middle class why would any law abiding tax paying legal American citizen vote for or support Socialism in any way shape or fashion. Sicko Communist Bernie should never get any support from any taxpaying legal American Citizen ever!

Democrats run states like California and New York that are going bankrupt should lose electoral votes.

If blue states are in trouble then red states better buckle up. They receive more money back from the federal government than they send, while the opposite is true for blue states. Red states are literally the welfare queens they bitch about while suckling off the teat of blue states.

But yeah guys, California is totally about to collapse. 5th largest GDP in the world on its own, but any day now. Any day, it's gonna happen. For real this time. This isn't like all the other times you jerked off to the idea of your enemies, who are completely unaware of your existence, being punished for not living in the same shitholes under the same insanely regressive policies like you do. For real, it's happening. Whip your dicks out now, you can blast at the same time California collapses.

Me, an idiot: Ah, the short term thinking that made California the 5th largest GDP in the world was always destined for failure. I am erect thinking of the suffering that its 55 million residents will endure because they do not love Trump as I do. I'm a normal person who is not a brain damaged sociopath.

What about the Blue States and the Government allowing State taxes to be written off of Federal taxes ( Money that is basically stolen from Citizens of Red States and given to the Citizens of Blue States) The socialist Programs and free ride programs established in Blue States that generate fentanyl kings and queens living in HUD Ghettos. Democrats Suck and need to be purged from all of America's political arenas.

It’s not quite that cut-and-dried. The ten states receiving the greatest per capita Federal support for State expenditures after subtracting the per capita income tax paid are:

  1. New Mexico 34.5% (Purple)
  2. Mississippi 89.3% (Red)
  3. Vermont 14.3% (Blue)
  4. West Virginia 42.3% (Purple)
  5. Oregon 10.0% (Blue)
  6. Kentucky 77.4% (Red)
  7. Alaska 93.8% (Red)
  8. Maine 34.3% (Purple)
  9. Arizona 72.6% (Red)
  10. Montana 55.0% (Purple)

The ten states that pay the most per capita income tax to the Federal government after subtracting the per capita Federal contribution to State expenditures are:

  1. Delaware 14.3% (Blue)
  2. New Jersey 24.0% (Blue)
  3. Minnesota 28.2% (Blue)
  4. Connecticut 17.5% (Blue)
  5. Massachusetts 16.7% (Blue)
  6. Nebraska 93.8% (Red)
  7. Illinois 26.2% (Blue)
  8. Virginia 34.7% (Purple)
  9. Rhode Island 12.5% (Blue)
  10. Kansas 83.0% (Red)

So on the receiving end of the scale we have two Blues, four Purples, and four Reds; and on the giving end of the scale we have seven Blues, one Purple, and two Reds.

And note that while the Purple on the giving end is on the verge of turning Blue (Virginia), two of the Purples on the receiving end are on the verge of doing the same (New Mexico and Maine).

So tax payers in New York and other States that were allowed to deduct State(income) Taxes(Money they paid in taxes to New York System of taxation) from the Amount that was owed to the Government. (Federal Tax) It should never have been that way and it is a shame that the Democrats would ever slip something so sinister into the tax system and get away with it for so many years. Democrats are dirty and they steal as much money as they can from every taxpayer in America. The Red States subsidize the Blue States and it is a disgrace for you to say that the Red States take more from the Fed than the Blue States of waste. You must be special to not know anything about the Blue taxpayer shell game that has been around for decades. Democrats are total liars.

Weak talking point. Red states are more likely to have balanced budgets whereas blue states have historical levels of debt. What are you suggesting, that blue states would stop donating money federally? The more solvent would come out on top in such a case even if it did happen.

The truth is that economics are not just your paper money. None of these large cities are self-sustaining, they are completely reliant on imports. If there was any sort of breakdown in economic exchange the producers would suddenly start price gouging on necessary goods like food, they also own all of the guns, what the fuck are blue states supposed to do? All of their upsides exist only on paper, you'd burn everything down and start eating each other in a month.
#15115366
No, they don't. A state tax board can't dictate deductions on what you owe to the IRS. Any deductions on state level taxes are dictated by the IRS. Whoever told you that is a liar, an idiot, or both. I suspect both, because there is no intellectual validity to reactionary ideology and all of its luminaries are grifters.

Here is a chart detailing what states receive in return for every tax dollar they send to the federal government. See if you can spot a pattern starting with $1.00+ received.

I'm sorry that reality doesn't match your warped and angry feelings toward it. This is a problem reactionaries struggle with every day.

Oh no. Debt. Let's change everything and become more like red states with less healthy populations, shorter lifespans, and greater levels of poverty. We need to do this quick, because debt is a thing in my head that I picture as a black square that says "Debt (bad thing)" due to my complete financial ignorance.

Also congratulations on figuring out, in the dumbest way possible, that large cities historically are and were trading hubs and therefore importers of goods. With a nice sprinkling of chud revolution murder fantasy on top of it. The laughable idea that all of the people who cities import from, meaning buy goods from, will just kill their customers out of spite is lol.

The fact of the matter is that reactionary ideology doesn't work and produces incredibly terrible outcomes for its citizens. But the idiots who buy into it are distracted by directing their anger at those terrible city folk (who they are mutually dependent upon) and alarmist debt arguments with no intellectual basis.

Of course, they are happy to ignore how the debt has ballooned under every modern GOP president. For some magical reason these arguments suddenly stop when a Republican is in power. It's almost as if there is no coherent ideology there.

No, and this was a moronic conclusion to come to.

How is your chart defining “return”?
#15115370
From The Atlantic:

The WalletHub analysts essentially asked how much each state receives back as a return on its federal income-tax investment. They compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia on three metrics: 1) federal spending per capita compared with every dollar paid in federal income taxes; 2) the percentage of a state’s annual revenue that comes from federal funding; and 3) the number of federal employees per capita. The third measure received only half the weight of each of the others in the calculation.

What the resulting map shows is that the most “dependent states,” as measured by the composite score, are Mississippi and New Mexico, each of which gets back about $3 in federal spending for every dollar they send to the federal treasury in taxes. Alabama and Louisiana are close behind.

SpecialOlympian wrote:From The Atlantic:

Yeah, I thought it might be something like that. Federal funds going to private individuals isn’t charity to the state, and while much of it is going to people in Red states they’re mostly Blue voters. For Big Government politicians, those are payments to their base. And for paychecks going to Federal employees, the money paid to me by my employer is not charity for the establishments where I choose to spend it. Nor are all—maybe not most—of those Federal employees engaged in activity that would be considered state welfare, like those in the military or working for the FBI, BLM, or IRS. The only one of the three numbers that should count is the second. That is what that I used for my own list, made per capita so they’d be comparable.
#15115385
Good job, Doug. I know that reality is often an obstacle that reactionaries struggle with but you've done it. If we only focus on one form of spending and disregard all others, then we can say blue states are actually the bad ones.

Call up the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and show your post to them to see if they agree.

@SpecialOlympian

You might want to look again at the two lists I posted below and tell me how they equate to “Blue States Bad.” The most that you can say is that while Blue states make up most of the top ten list that pays disproportionately more to the Federal government, Red states don’t make up most of the top ten list that receives disproportionately more from the Feds.

Somewhat similar, here's San Francisco from a couple days ago since California once again didn't do the necessary work to prevent forest fires because of muh environmentalism:

I think there's something in the bible about the sky turning red before judgement day. These places are run by insane people who can't function without their psychotropic drugs and whose only goal in life is to legalize every form of depravity.
