US is not waging war on Venezuela. It is sanctioning Venezuela. The reason for those sanctions is the violations of Human rights, undemocratic regime within the country and the problems of Venezuela that turned in to problems for everyone in the region. (Massive migration from Venezuela because of the starvation and failed economy)

Sanctions are economic war, duh. But there have also been coup attempts, assassination attempts, those dumb guys working for the U.S. that got dealt with by Venezuelan fishermen etc.

If any of what you said was true, how come the U.S. isn't sanctioning and disrupting the lives of people in Saudi Arabia? And what about America's violation of human rights worldwide, including the death of tens of thousands of Venezuelans via sanctions?

Saudi Arabia violations of human rights exists but most of them related to their religion. While it does not pardon Saudi Arabia violations, it makes it much easier to excuse them and wait for the situation to improve.

US recent violations were the Guatanamo fiasco and even that was done in a grey area to circumvent US legislation by 1 part of the US government. Otherwise the US is pretty good at dealing with its own internal human rights problems unless you start expanding the definitions to things that might not be considered human rights in the US.

The sanctions though is a tool. Does it cause no harm to civilians? Well it depends on what sanctions are implemented. The most modern versions that US employs against Russia and Venezuela are individual targeted usually. The idea is to arrest all assets and block those individuals from using the "Western" economic and financial systems. And since those individuals basic idea is to steal in Russia or Venezuela and then ship money to Europe or US for safe keeping this strategy actually works. The problem comes from the fact that very few individuals are covered by this. Sanctions against general economy are actually rare. Russia got some of those only after the Crimea and Donbas situations. Considering that those were very severe violations, I do not think that "some" general economic sanctions is really a proper response.

Starting tomorrow, the USA is going to station armed snipers all around your house, and a an armed tank right in front of all the doors to your house and all entrances to your property.

Their job will be to make sure that no food, medicine, or other supplies reach the people who are trapped inside. This includes you. They will not let anyone leave, unless this person renounces you.

We will stay there until you yourself "renounce your horrible opinions and admit that your entire life has been a lie and a failure."

But this is not an act of war against you in any way.

Nobody is stopping people from coming or leaving Venezuela.

Nobody is stopping food from coming or leaving Venezuela.

You are being dishonest Qatz and trying to create your own personal make shift reality to fit you make shift ideas.

US imposes New Sanctions Targeting Venezuela’s Food Program
The Trump administration announced new sanctions Monday targeting three individuals and sixteen companies allegedly tied to Venezuela’s subsidized CLAP food distribution program.

The Local Production and Supply Committees (CLAPs) form a national food distribution network partnering the Maduro government with local communal councils. Around six million households are estimated to benefit from the program, or more than sixty percent of the population. Most of the food distributed is imported, rendering the program vulnerable to OFAC sanctions targeting private import-export firms.

Over the past two years, the Trump administration has imposed various rounds of harsh economic sanctions targeting oil, mining, and financial transactions, including most recently a sweeping embargo prohibiting all dealings with the Venezuelan state.

Are you really this dense? Your own article states that they are ALLEGEDLY tide to it and also that those are individual and not company sanctions. You are just trying to make it look like US is targeting food for your political gain while in reality US is not doing it. Nice try liar.

For someone that supports sanctions on every country they're imposed upon, you should probably learn how they work. In this case, it's preventing the importation of food to Venezuela from companies that deal with the U.S. too, ye dumb, sick warmonger. :D

Anyway, maybe you should avoid being so bitter because your wishes for regime-change didn't happen in Venezuela. If I made this thread, I'd be embarrassed. You though,

In some sense the United States is wrong for not actually sending military to take out Maduro and his friends, allowing him to amass false support.

To me they should have amassed enough military might and bulldoze whoever "opposing" them, because those scums proved themselves actually worse.

Hypocrite totaliatarian governments (China, Russia, Belarus, Venezuela, Thailand, etc.) and their apologists like you and QatzelOk deserve war. The West are simply too lenient, cowardly to engage the actual big guys -- only those like Mike Pompeo have actual conscience now (not Trump though -- he's just in for himself).

Think about what you guys are advocating -- and thus, what you deserve -- before accusing others for being a warmonger!

I don't think "the West" has any of the human traits you mention like "lenient" and "cowardly."

Since you are talking about its controlling institutions, it seems more likely that they operate on pure calculation and for monetary gain. So attributing human qualities to them - as if each decision-maker was a mini-Steven Seagal - demonstrates a poor understanding of the nature of human institutions.

The said leniency and cowardice are exactly more about calculation and $$$ than human.

Pompeo seems to be one of those few knowing what brings them better profit.

On a side note, the best way to earn money is to make your customers willingly pay. Admittedly the British are the real masters. Let's see how they cash in by accepting BNO refugees (many of whom are talented, professional big $$$ makers) in the coming years.

Imagine the people of rich countries, who have had ample access to education and health care, wanting to "rid the world" of a government that brought these very things to the poorest of a relatively poor country.

It's like watching a fat person steal boxed meals from refugees.

A more just and equitable political and socio-economic model is an example that cannot be allowed to spread as a template for people to set up similar institutions in their own countries. Such a place has to instead be subjected to embargoes, sanctions, set up for coups and counter-revolutions, their neighbors turned into enemies, lest the contagion of allowing the common good to be implemented be spread about.

That's a bit of a dumb quote since we're in the Venezuela thread.

But are you disputing the article? Was that what you were trying to do? Going to need more than a quote from a genocidal fascist pig. Maybe try reading the article and then you can get back to me with your incessant weeping about how Venezuela hasn't been regime-changed yet.
