Re fusers' argument with noemon about US duplicity in foreign policy;
The OP is about the vice president of the US labeling China's actions in Xinjiang genocide on his final day in office. Questioning his motives and sincerity by pointing out US double standards around the world is a legitimate line of argument.

I just pointed out how easy it is to spin facts to fit a narrative and to lie with statistics. Wikipedia isn't a viable source as it refuses to allow first party sources for it's articles. Post the links to the relevant references listed at the bottom because I'm not going through all 364 of them.
All children are forced to attend school in all countries. Uighurs live in remote rural areas so the only practical way to educate them is in boarding schools. If you disagree with the schools' policies on religious practice that's a separate criticism.
China's greatest achievement in regards to Tibet is to limit discussion to the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) itself even though half of Tibetans live outside of it's borders. Half of Xinjiang's residents aren't Uiguhr because of migration of Han Chinese into the area. The British people who emigrated to N Ireland, the Falklands and Gibraltar would like to continue being governed by Britain, too.

The source is wikipedia.
If you believe the numbers are wrong then provide evidence of different numbers.

Xinjiang is definitely a hotspot for unrest within China, but most residents (especially the half that aren't Uiygher) want to stay in China. Kyrgyzstan certainly isn't getting a trillion dollar high speed rail line anytime soon.
