Hamas can not be toppled. This was obvious to me and quite a few other people right from the start of this latest operation into Gaza. This was obvious to me and quite a few other people on 10/7. "Toppled" is not a particularly useful term in these contexts, but if people insist on wasting our time then, lets look at Iraq. Use of the term is silly and childish, but the statement "Baathist rule could be toppled in Basrah" was essentially true. The statement "Baathist rule could be toppled in Fallujah" was completely untrue. Yes Baathism did eventually die out in Fallujah but only to be replaced by something even less agreeable. And of course even in Basrah the Liberals didn't get the rule they wanted.
Hamas is
1 A military organisation
2 Military orgnisations and cells capable of operating independently and in isolation, similar to the Nazi Werewolves.
3 The institutions of Gaza
4 Part political ideology.
So To eliminate Hamas you need to
1 Occupy its territory capture its main arms dumps, Arrest or kill its leaders.
2 Hunt down and destroy its cells.
2 De-Hamasify Gaza's institutions.
4 Uproot the Hamas ideology from the hearts and minds of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.
You'll be lucky to get to first base. Hence the Liberal Zionists will be be able to say as ever "Two States, but not yet". But Hamas and Netanyahu are not the problem. Hamas and Netanyahu are merely symptoms.
