No. Neolibertarians believe in military intervention in order to spread freedom abroad (people in other countries have natural rights, too), but I highly doubt they'd support public surveillance cameras or the DP. Those are highly statist positions and far removed from the State's enumerated powers as given to them by libertarian minarchism.

I'd say he's a libertarian conservative, much the way I'm a "liberal libertarian".

I'd say I'm Neoconservative with a libertarian streak. In fact, that's what I'll call myself from now on.

Aside from the few issues mentioned on the top, your beliefs are similar to Dick Cheney's. I had similar views in my college years (to yours) and I thought his bio was a great book. Don't mind the amazon rating though. A lot of the poor ratings were rated by idiots who just follow the popular, Cheney-hating trend and chances are they didn't even read the book. Anyway, based on your recent posts, I get the impression that you're trying to "understand your true political belief", so this book might be a good start.

Support for international military intervention is a highly statist position, especially when viewed in a North American context. It implies a commitment to high military spending and the global assertion of national values. It also allows for the large-scale subsidy of the military-industrial complex, a considerable degree of corporate welfare, and protectionism when deemed in the national interest. These would be viewed by a classical liberal as impediments to the unfettered market forces that they champion.

In this way, Neoconservatives actually share much more in common with the European Old Right than anything that America produced, favouring high government spending and an agressive, expansionist foreign policy.

I think you're all wrong.

Unless you clearly define with a particular party, you are generally an independent, which literally means nothing.

You are a part of the tiny handful of freethinking people who are worthless to any special interest, and therefore moot.

Surveillance conservative? No, you see that more in liberal societies than anywhere else.

Liberals support it because it keeps the streets safe, Conservatives support it because anything in the public eye is open to recording and inquiry. Really, it's not even a political issue.

I think a lot of your issues (and your seriously hot avatar) are personal choices, most likely pragmatic ones based on what is important to you, rather than a political system of logical recourse.

Again, avatar: seriously hot.

And why are gun rights conservative? It seems to me any populist social structure should support independent arms, while a conservative should want a disarmed, obedient public.

Seems an absurd juxtaposition to me.
