They come out at night and are quite shy of people, also you need to have a fair amount of trees round to support a few Possums, so if you live inner city their numbers of lower. But if you are quiet and look around fruit trees, you have a pretty good chance of seeing one.

Makes sense. Nothing better than suburban cityscape. I personally hate the countryside. Where are you from, if you see possums?
