I am curious. "Middle class" is broken up into sections because the general (American) definition is very broad; they are not further subdivided because the boards limit the number of options. I will not bother to define the terms specifically; it probably is different in different countries and to different people, but there you have it.

I put 'other' because class is very difficult to classify unless you are only talking about money. I mean I know which wine to order with what food, what to wear at what social occasion.etc given the cash I easily pass for a gent.

Is middle class still defined as between $40,000-150,000 a year?

If so:

Right, middle class.

Centre, lower middle class

I'm too refined, smart and cosmopolitan (and yes, full of myself :D) to really consider myself lower class, but I'm not exactly swimming in cash, neither. So I catalog myself as lower middle class.

Other.

My background is working class.

My income (£20,000pa)is not Middle Class.

My 2:1 honours degree says Middle Class.

My attitudes are generally Middle Class, left.

All I know about class is that I changed class at some point, and now despise the working class I came from as much as the middle class wanker I have become. And given the choice, I still get the wrong fork every time.

I'm negative more than 50Gs, and probably going to lower from there.

That said, I'm also a PhD student.

So, whatever you make of that and to the left.

Sounds interesting, I had an amazing professor last seme for my Early Christianity course who specialized in Irish history. Interesting stuff.

I'm always surprised how many people on the board study history and the like; and then I remember its a politics board.

Right, Lower Class
For now. This should change to Right, Middle-Class over the next half a year or so, now that I'm almost done my degree and am going to be getting a middle-class job. But been lower class my whole life.

Currently:
centre, Middle Class

Was:
Left, Lower Class or Lower Middle Class

The rightward trend in my political views is almost purely due to my distain of the corruption and inefficiencies I see in socialist systems. I still support those concepts however :hmm:

I expect my centre status will remain as I already know of the corruption and inefficientcy (and other problems) amoung the more right wing government systems. I plan to enter the upper middle class after ~5 years.

I'm currently a college student with not much money. However, as soon as i start work (in August of this year), i believe i will be a part of the middle class.

As far as where i came from, i group up most of my child hood below the poverty line, and then was in the lower class before i started college.

Center, Middle class.
I'm technically center-left, but doubt many leftists here would consider me a proper leftist.
I'm also a part of what one would consider a middle class family, although we do have a bit of a 'size handicap,' so to speak. :p
