Stipe, you think you have enough metal there?

And you and Grunch ruined the aesthetic of the thread that SmashtheState and I crafted. :*( :p

Anyways, after The Velvet Undergrounds Sister Ray any attempt at sounding "loud" or "heavy" is a joke.

As a metalhead, it is logical that metal would be my favorite kind of music. There are plenty of non-metal artists that I listen to (I have my Rush collection too), but I generally don't find myself worshiping whole albums.

If you welcomed me into your little thread with the intention of berating me for listening to heavy music post-Velvet Underground (who never especially interested me), then your aesthetic deserves a kick in the teeth. :O

Stipe I was just joking with you!

Or perhaps you are also joking?

I can never tell on the internet.

The first part was serious. The second was half joking although not devoid of honest bitterness. :p

Fuck, I forgot to slide in Katatonia - Brave Murder Day...oh wellz

Propagandhi - Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes
Image

Propagandhi - Less Talk, More Rock
Image

Refused - Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent
Image

Thought Riot - Shattered Mirror Syndrome
Image

International Noise Conspiracy - A New Morning, Changing Weather
Image

Phil Ochs - I Ain't Marching Anymore
Image

I don't actually own the following two, but I used to have many songs from them, and they're some of my favourite:

Boysetsfire - Tomorrow Come Today
Image

Boysetsfire - The Misery Index
Image

The only Boysetsfire album I own is 'Before The Eulogy', and it's not as good as those ones.

The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
Image

John Lennon - Lennon Legend: The very best of John Lennon
Image

Metallica - The Black Album
Image

The Unseen - State of Discontent
Image

I'm also currently having a probably short-lived liking for Mudvayne's 'The End Of All Things To Come', because their bass is just sex for the ears.

Ghost Reveries - Opeth (2005)

Just bought this one last week. I saw it at a used CD store, and had seen Opeth recommended on PoFo, so I decided to get it. I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far; I think I'll have to buy more Opeth in the future. I saw a 4-CD pack at HMV a couple days back. Might pick that up at some point.

Dream Theater

I also bought Dream Theater's Greatest Hit album on Monday. I also like it quite a bit. I had heard a bit about them before and decided a compilation album would be a good introduction to them.
