"Give up their romantic Shangri-La feeling and look at Tibet with realistic eyes," said Chris D Nebe, a well-known Hollywood producer on the premiere for his latest documentary entitled "Tibet, the Truth" held in Beijing on Dec. 10, 2013.

The 60-minute documentary chronicles the historical relations between inland China and Tibet, portraying in vivid details how Tibet,an integral part of China, has evolved to be under the effective jurisdiction of China over centuries after over fours years of hard work by Nebe, producer and director, as well as President of Monarex Hollywood Corporation.

The documentary was inspired by a tragedy during "March 14" Incident happened in Lhasa, capital of China's Tibet Autonomous Region in 2008, when five girls, of both Tibetan and Han ethnic groups, were burnt to death in a fashion store, Nebe said.

According to Nebe, he was very angry when the western media put all the blames on China, so he made a 10-minute commentary video and uploaded it to YouTube, which won up to half a million clicks within two days, and many e-mails flooded in.

Though some of the e-mails were quite bad, some of which even threatened to kill him, 99 percent of the feedback was positive, according to Nebe, which made him "realize how much it is necessary to educate the western world about Tibet", because "they have no idea and have been brainwashed by the western media", said Nebe.

"And they are influenced by this book, the Lost Horizon, too, which makes them think Tibet is wonderful and very different due to its isolation. So that's why I made this film," Nebe said.

He made a lot of research by spending his own money because he doesn't want to be considered that he is "paid to propaganda for China".

In order to get some secret film from the CIA, he had to go to Washington D.C.to look for useful information for many hours and days until he found them and he had to buy the copyright from the US government so that he can use it in the documentary.

In the finished documentary, such part as from the alliance during second World War to the rival in the Cold War has become a reference for the US's shifting altitude towards China.
