An interesting piece by the BBC although I have to say it reads like a propaganda piece nonetheless. China are basically addressing a problem that the West have failed on since the 80s and it should be applauded and most definitely not criticized by a Western media that haven't a fucking clue that China can see this is a problem whereas we in the West cannot. Also the plan reads like Johnsons speech yesterday of 'Build Back Better' and 'Jobs Jobs Jobs' by improving living standards for the Chinese people, improving their market and becoming more sustainable very much like Johnson pledge of leveling up I might add. Yet nobody says that Britain will have repercussions for the rest of the world but China for some reason is a threat to us nonetheless. No they are not. They are just protecting their own market. And the truth is every nation should aim to reduce dependence of another nation in any case and exploit their own market. It is just luck that China happen to have the largest market which they now want to enhance. America, Europe, Australia, India whoever it maybe should be doing the same. Get manufacturing back home and stop the dependence. We need to copy China, not ignore them and ridicule. China are on the right path and we should follow suit.

@B0ycey The mantra of most Americans is:
If we're not already doing it, then there must be something wrong with it. :knife:

Also, if it has to do with China, then it's "Socialist" or "Communist", and Americans treat those things like the Bogey Man that they are.

Indeed. Although the BBC of course is a British Media outlet rather than American. From my understanding, the issue is it may effect Western luxury markets if China begin to make things themselves. Which is a farce really because that is what any rational government should consider when tackling inequality in their nation. To tackle inequality you have to make the economy work for everyone and that should always begin with jobs at home than sending them abroad. It is funny really because Johnson has understood this with his Jobs Jobs Jobs quip but as of yet hasn't a plan. And China are doing this with a plan. Perhaps the UK should copy China actually who seem to be on top of these things.
:hmm:

As for the US Thinking they do things right whereas the rest of the world are doing things wrong, then they need to look at themselves in the mirror. The US is a clusterfuck right now when it comes to addressing domestic problems. I guess this is why China and America are on different routes right now. America don't want to let go of Reaganomics and China have seen the impact of that and are changing course. And in the end that will be another win for China.

They don't seem to have got the memo yet that this is 2021, not 1951. Lol.

NEVS, as the Swedish unit is known, in August gave notice to almost half its 670 workers at the former Saab factory in Trollhattan. There's "no major activity" in the plant, Tilk said.

"The Evergrande situation triggered the decision," he said. "These are things I had wanted to do for some time, but now it became necessary, given that Evergrande no longer can finance us."

"How do you prick a bubble that every single person, from homeowners to local governments, doesn't want pricked?" Travis Lundy, an independent analyst in Hong Kong, told The Washington Post. "Nobody really wants to see this unwind. If this does, there is going to be a lot of pain."
