For the first time I've grown two chili plants (cayenne) this year which are ripening right now. We were able to include the first red ones into our diet (lots of hot pasta :D ), but we're now kind of overwhelmed.
I would love to keep them fresh, but simply dunking them in oil is not going to do it I guess (or does heating a closed pot for some time do the trick?). Drying is another option I hear sometimes, how does that work? Grinding them into powder?
Basically I'm an idiot with fresh chili and I don't want to waste them. Halp! :D

Hang them from some string in a dry place. This concentrates the oil that makes peppers hot. It also looks pretty nice. You can also bake them, but I've never done this before.

Cool, thanks for the tip Wollfman. I might have to try this myself.
From your experience how long have you left to dry?
