Suzuki Cappuccino - Politics Forum.org | PoFo

Wandering the information superhighway, he came upon the last refuge of civilization, PoFo, the only forum on the internet ...

Talk about sports cars, aeroplanes, ships, rockets etc.

So I desperately want one these. A shame they never sold Kei cars in the US, we would probably benefit from their smalll size and practicality. With a little work you could probably turn one of these 64hp roadsters into 120hp beasts.

pics for those not familiar with the car:

Couldn't you just imagine driving one of these along the coast?

Theyre not really practical though.

2 seater? Ever heard of a family?

Other kei cars could fit more people in them. And they're subject to less taxes/insurance so they're easy on the wallet.

But really, having a family is far less practical than having a Suzuki Cappuccino.

This has nothing to do with the subject, but seriously your avatar gives me the creeps. The expression on her face and the fact that she has her mouth over a cat head just creeps me out.

64hp?

Yeah, that's one of the drawbacks. It can't have more than 64hp to be designated a kei car. However, you could easily tune it so that it has much more horsepower. It weighs 725kg so if you could double the horsepower... you would have quite a bit of speed on your hands. Admittedly I don't know a lot about the tuning process for these cars, but I've seen videos of people going through autocross courses pretty damn fast in Cappuccinos. Image

Interesting low weight, it weights as much as a Lotus Europa. Can you provide a link with any more technichal information about these cars? I am curious to know if it is really possible to double the output of that engine. On the good side it has some sensible tyres 165/65 R14 79H, they're cheap to replace.

has some technical info

and following a link in Wikipedia got me this:

For a long time, having a Suzuki Cappuccino with a Suzuki Hayabusa engine has been a dream for many. This dream is now coming to reality.

With the financial backing of Toby Haws, a fellow SCORE member; the skills of James Lingard, from Fairfax Motorsport; and my self at CappuccinoSPORT, have decided to do what it takes to build it. And this is not only a one-off!
In fact we are creating this project in the objective to build many more. A kit will soon be available to export or you can get it install to our garage in Colchester. Already a few orders has been taken.
The Hayabusa conversion will cost between £5000 to £6000 including parts and labour. For a few more thousand, you can even have a turbo attached to it. Want to go fast? On the weight ratio, it will bring your Cappuccino to slightly more than 300BHP...

Thanks a lot for the link. Well, having Hayabusa engine in one of these cars will convert it into a veeery fast car. However, since the engine is already turbo-charged maybe it is easy to tune it up a bit only by lowering the compression ratio and increasing turbo boost. Also a bigger intercooler might be needed. I don't know why, but I assumed these were Front wheel drive but they aren't, another good thing.
