Exactly. IMO ETs anticipated this long ago. No doubt advanced aliens--from a civilization around a very long time--think in terms of the long haul. Unimpressive as we've seemed compared to them, until recently, we're progressing by leaps and bounds, and they can't be indifferent to us.
