What I would like to know is, if you are a strong person, why do you need to turn to God to guide you in life? Don't you think there is something that seems pretty weak and pathetic about bowing one's head in desperation and praying for God to save you? Isn't it much more admirable to save yourself? I am genuinely curious as someone who used to believe.
