It's yet very early days for the quadrennial primary circus. Only a few seats have been filled. Some would say that the members of the kiddie's table are the first to take their places.

The game of musical chairs begins in earnest part-way through 2020. That's when we'll hear of first this and then that candidate 'suspending' his or her bid for the brass ring. That's politician-speak for, 'My campaign fund chest's empty.'

Stay tuned ...

Everybody and their mother wants to run against Trump. That's the real reason. Do keep in mind, or note as the case may be, that this is historically atypical, as normally an incumbent is much harder to beat.

colliric;

With regard to your statement,"It's part of the Democrats [sic] strategy." I have a bit of difficulty more than somewhat here. I can't envision a Democratic Party steering committee where a group of people discuss how to entice this or that person into declaring themselves candidates for the Presidency of the United States of America.

Regards.

I didn't say it's a conscious strategy, they seem to want to all appear "hungry for change".

Isn't it a bit soon to start talking about the 2020 elections(20 months away)? Dems haven't even figured out who they are going to represent them... if anyone.

Dems have to do something different. The standard candidate won't work. They have to pick someone like AOC, but with a wider appeal, and not female. :hmm: Americans aren't ready for that kind of change. They could hardly deal with a black President.

It could be jimjam's nightmare scenario: all billionaires. Bloomberg (as interesting as a wallflower) and Schultz (much more charismatic) can self fund. The Democrats have already started attacking them. They think that anti-Trump sentiment is an opportunity to advance the most radical agenda in two or three generations.

Well they kind of have to make sure Hillary doesn't run.

The Republicans found this out in 2012 the hard way. Romney thought he'd skate right in and ended up taking the last two weeks of the election off, only to lose to an eminently beatable Obama. Glad Romney didn't win, but I held my nose and voted for the prick. "I like to fire people!" Great job Mitt...

Not in America... I plan to cancel DirectTV after my uncle goes home. It will be interesting to see how they try to get their message to me when I'm no longer willing to pay for it.

That's a hell of a lot better than what you currently have.

Beto O'Rourke is the trophy husband of a Billionaire Heiress who is about as hispanic, or ''leftist'', as President Trump is. If he were so much as elected dog-catcher in the USA, it would be one more clear sign that the USA has gone full retard.

Pelosi tells you all you need to know. The Democrat candidate will be a member of the inner circle. They only encourage the left to get the weirdos votes. They have no intention of running a far left candidate. Remember what they did to Bernie?
#14984816
Fuck the democratic party
Their either gonna push some socialist asshole like sanders who will promise to double the minimum wages (what a joke)
or some gimmick like transgender or something
I think they are out of ideas right now

Apparently, it's never too early to start talking about the next election in America. People started campaigning for the midterms the second Trump was sworn in. :|

The Dems might self destruct before 2020. Their liberal utopias are falling apart rapidly. This article says 1 in 4 California Community College students are homeless or facing homelessness. California already requires colleges to provide showers for them, now they are considering requiring students be allowed to live in their cars in their parking lots because there is no housing.
They seem to be headed for 3rd world socialism in a hurry with the expected shortages.

California is like a typical third world country
extremely rich guys who are completely detached from the regular folks and think that they know better than everyone else and that they are the pillar of morality. this was the overall democrats attitude in recent years
and than they wonder why Trump wins the elections

The Dems have nothing to run on. They can only hope that they get enough "Anti-Trump" voters voting for them because their current talking points are ridiculous.

I don't expect the Dems to win the presidency in 2020. They may keep the house and we'll have another stalled government for 4 more years though.

Elections are the national sport of the USA. With all of the big money and corruption of any other major sport.
