Preventing thousands of deaths annually from avoidable medical reasons, or making sure a few people do not need to leave their house sometimes?

But cutting defense funding would be easy and would not affect anything important.
So when you said that “no doctor in a government program is going to” “come to [your] house“, you were not claiming that doctors in government programs will not come to anyone’s house?
