Congress didn't throw away our pandemic teams. They didn't cut the budget. They didn't bring 14 sick people here against the advice of the CDC. They didn't give the people taking care of them training or protective gear. And then they let those exposed health workers go home, where the disease jumped to our first community transmission.

Words like incompetent and stupid aren't strong enough.

Brain dead works.

All fake news. Congress has the poser of the purse and can allocate funds as they see fit.

Don't worry kids. Impeached president Trump has named Mr. Dynamite himself, M. Pence, as America's Corona virus czar. Early in his political career, Pence staked out a distinctive position on public health, declaring that smoking doesn’t kill people. He has also repeatedly insisted that evolution is just a theory. As governor of Indiana, he blocked a needle exchange program that could have prevented a significant H.I.V. outbreak, calling for prayer instead.

And now government scientists will need to get Pence’s approval before making public statements about the coronavirus.

Here is Mr. Dynamite himself ^ showing what he can do

sorry, I couldn't resist

@Hindsite As you see facts as lies.

The Impeachment process began on DECEMBER 10, 2019.

The first Corona Virus alert was Jan 31, 2019, but everyone can tell that's 20 days later.

Now, if you're just going say it's all lies [personal insults deleted - Prosthetic Conscience]

Democrats are just trying to distract from their horrible South Carolina debate. Even if you assumed Trump was incompetent, there isn't a single Democrat candidate anyone would prefer. They're all for open borders. Border controls have been a big component of disease control along with quarantines and vaccinations. There are whole swaths of Democrats who don't believe in vaccination, think border controls are racist and think quarantines are a civil rights violation.

Face it folks, Trump is going to win again.

That's a convenient lie for Trump cultists, that isn't the truth. FFS, you're getting as bad as Hindsite.

Bernie Sanders says he does not support open borders
"What we need is comprehensive immigration reform,” he continued. "If you open the borders, my God, there's a lot of poverty in this world, and you're going to have people from all over the world. And I don't think that's something that we can do at this point. Can't do it. So that is not my position.”

There's even more Republicans who don't believe in vaccinations, and ARE racists who would rather ignore problems of public health, than address them.

I am not sure what to think of any of this.

One would imagine that, for something as specialized as a massive disease outbreak, the whole of the CDC would be accountable. It takes expert knowledge to really deal with this individually. The President's test would be to what degree he heeded the information.

The cuts to the pandemic teams, etc., can easily be portrayed as efforts to consolidate power over the situation in the CDC, which I would find to be logical. There is no need for it to be divided across so many agencies and then create bureaucratic difficulties.

Thats' a good point, however Bernie Sanders has long been labelled as White supremacist misogynist by the Democratic establishment. I find fivethirtyeight very informative, but there's no doubt that they are in the tank for the Democratic establishment, even they have continually been trying to insinuate that Sanders is a White supremacist. I'd be interested if you can find anything recently by Bidden or Warren against open borders.

The other thing is if people are so concerned about the evil US's immigration policy, why doesn't Canada offer them sanctuary? And if Thailand has such a wonderful health care system, couldn't they take a share of the USA's illegals. Although talking of Thailand, perhaps their way is more democratic, under the Thai system Trump would get to appoint the Senate members, that would put a stop to all this impeachment nonsense. Note I take the same view of British hypocrites who criticise Italy and Greece for their attempts to control their borders.

1) It's not hard.

2) You mean the section that deals with epidemics and pandemics.

3) Trump ripped the guts out of the pandemic teams.

4) You don't realise how complicated this gets. When you are trying to juggle a few thousand balls, you need a lot of people that can juggle. There used to be a White House pandemic team, they would coordinate with the pandemic teams at other agencies, American hospitals, foreign medical services, foreign countries, etc. The CDC is supposed to set the rules, which they hand off to HHS and medical staff around the world. Then you would have other teams buying testing kits, buying emergency supplies. Every doc, nurse, cop, mayor, governor, foreign head of state needs to be in the loop. This is similar to getting ready for an old style war, where millions of people are directly and indirectly involved. It is the very definition of a big, hairy deal.

Godstud, Bernie hit the nail on the head. I agree with his position on borders completely. The USA can't take care of its own population that is poor and in need of services. Undocumented immigrants need to realize that the USA economy has changed. Reagan gave amnesty in 1986 to all the immigrants without papers at that time because the California agribusiness needed their cheap labor. Now? It could be with automation and changes on a mass scale and encouraging organic farming, and smaller but high quality agriculture? The need for that labor might lessen substantially.

The USA can't do poverty on a mass scale. The governments of the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere like Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, many nations in South America and some islands of the Caribbean can't go to the USA as a solution en masse waves. Can't do it. They need to stay in their home nations and fight for their rights as workers and deal with these exploitative industries and corporations who want to keep their wages abysmally depressed. Bernie would be more useful kicking these corporations asses at home in DC and weakening their grip on Latin American exploitation wages than opening up borders and promising people with zero formal educations and zero English and zero social mobility to go to the USA and expect lies about being the next generation of American Dreamers.

BJ repeats anything against socialism without realizing what the hell we are doing in reality. It doesn't surprise me. He should dig into that socialism hard and fight us with the TRUTH. Not lying propaganda. But? He is a political man. Ex Young Republican.

If I am wrong about the oppositions position and I find out I am wrong? Due to a lot of empirical evidence to the contrary? I say I am wrong and concede the point. No point in living in damn denials. It impedes progress in life and in politics.

Trump doesn't need any help when it comes to sabotage.

This is simple, Trump screwed the pooch.

Repeatedly.

He killed the pandemic teams, cut funding, ignored the CDC, brought sick people here without getting ready for it (against the advice of the CDC), has regularly contradicted epidemic specialists on TV, and now he has Pence muzzling those scientists.

So much winning it might just kill me.

TIA..
