Another dead conservative.

This is a video leading up to the alleged shooting. It's reminds me of how Joseph Rosenbaum demanded that that someone shoot him.

One dead in shooting at dueling Denver protests

One person was shot and killed Saturday during dueling protests in Denver, Colorado, police said. Two people, including one suspect, have been taken into custody.

The shooting occurred near the Denver Art Museum as two opposing groups were holding rallies in the area. Denver police said the suspect is "a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa."

Police said both people taken into custody are white males.

NBC affiliate 9news reports that the suspect being detained by police is a private security guard hired by the station. The station also reports the second person taken into custody was a 9news producer who has since been released.

Ok, so wait, an NBC affiliate hired a private security guard who shot a person exercising their first amendment rights? Am I reading that correctly or what?

Police said they recovered a mace canister from the scene. Video of the shooting posted to social media appears to show a cloud of mace being sprayed right before the shot is fired.

The man who was killed appears to have been part of what was billed as a "Patriot Muster." The event page for that rally stated "BLM, Antifa, and related Marxist associations are assaulting everything we love and cherish about this country!"

In response, left-wing groups planned a counter rally which they called a "BLM-ANTIFA Soup Drive."

Due to ongoing unrest throughout the country and violence that erupted at earlier events in the city, Denver business owners were warned of the possibility of violence prior to Saturday's protests.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

Isn't it kind of odd that this happened in Denver? Home to the Columbine and Aurora shootings, and the response from gun control groups is nil?

I thought they hated gun violence!

And the gun crime isn't leftist-related? Where are all of the gun control liberals and politicians?

What the hell is going on in America?!?

Missing from the story thus far: 1) the name of the victim 2) the name of the shooting suspect and the security firm he worked

Why would a Hollywood celebrity be this involved in some random local crime that authorities said did not involve antifa/leftist extremist groups?

There is an incredible effort being waged to convince people that the shooter wasn't antifa related, but zero effort in finding out who was responsible for the shooting.

A clear case of self defense as @Sivad will attest. Although I haven't seen him, here that is, he is about, I am certain he will be along soon calling bullshit on anyone trying to villify someone for defending themselves.

"[If] antifa blew that wingnut away I'd be right here defending the antifa and calling bullshit on anyone trying to villify someone for defending themselves."

Shooter appears to be a Bernie bro who was hired as a security guard. I wouldn't think it's prudent for security guards to get into arguments with people. There's also this picture:

People are arguing about who started what but it seems clear that a gun is not an equivalent reaction to pepper spray/mace and that it's hard to argue you feared for your life when there was a crowd of people and many police officers nearby and your alleged attacker (and again, it doesn't seem very clear there) was using a non-lethal weapon.

Seems like another Bernie bro whose emotions got the better of him.

Justified shooting then, eh? Interesting take!

I guess we can also declare in Kenosha shooting a clear case of self defense as well, since a skateboard is a far more deadly weapon than mace.

I hate to beat a dead horse here, but I find the lack of details surrounding this incident and the general unwillingness of the media to do their job and accurately report this story to be truly reprehensible.

They won't even name the suspect of a freaking homicide!

Actually, no I don't find it surprising considering a local news outlet is directly tied to this homicide. The media has literal blood on it's hands now.

I just went to browse Denver's 9NEWS, the news outlet and outside of one tweet of the incident, it's nothing but puff pieces since the homicide.

In the accompanied article, they admit that one of their unamed investigative reporters accompanied the unamed shooter. People have speculated that the investigative reporter is Kyle Clark, who is a pro-antifa sympathizer.

Man, this would be a windfall for the victim's surviving family members if they decided to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit against the news station.

It's not a clear case of self-defense. What actually happened does matter, I don't just go around concocting whatever bullshit suits my purposes because that's what crazy idiots do and that kind of idiocy isn't going to take me anywhere I would want to end up.

Yeah, that does make it look disproportionate. If someone is physically attacking you and you have a gun, you can use deadly force if you have a well founded fear that they will take your gun and kill you with it.

It's one picture, and it doesn't tell the whole story. From the picture, though, it would look to be an unjustified homicide.

Kenosha is a clear case of self-defense. I think they're probably prosecuting to try to prevent an outbreak of vigilantism.

The media contracted his services. They have the right to remain silent, and from a legal perspective they are wise to do so. From a public perception perspective, they look quite hypocritical.

I don't know, it seems to me that assaulting someone with a can of bear mace is a good way to get yourself shot(do you really want to live in a society where people can just mace you and you're not allowed to defend yourself?). Whether the shooting was justified is going to depend on how it began and whether a safe retreat for both the security guard and his client was possible. We don't have that information.

Yeah, I think generally if you're instigating violence of any sort, you're sort of asking for it. It would be interesting to see what touched off the bear mace response. Hopefully, someone has video of it.

I was taking the piss. In another thread, @Sivad said he would defend everybody's right to defend themselves, even antifa.

He, being the hypocritical shit he is, was lying.

I've tried to be fair and come down on wherever the truth lies in these matters, and if it offends ''conservatives''or ''Liberals'' then so be it.

The deceased Conservative protestor in Denver was at fault for spraying bear mace at the security person for the news station, same as with Rashard Brooks in Atlanta who took a taser from the police and was shot by them, in self defense.

If you use a weapon that can incapacitate them, enabling you to kill or seriously injure them as their possible even likely next step, they have the right to self defense, this applies to Kyle Rittenhouse and his self defense in Kenosha too.

I seem to recall seeing a picture of the deceased striking the security person prior to the pulling out of the bear mace by the decedent.

I'm open to new information, but it looks as a legit case of self-defense just as with Rittenhouse and against Rashard Brooks.

Lethal self-defense against a skateboard and taser, respectively:

Shooting

The moments of shooting were recorded in cellphone footage from multiple angles.[84] Around 11:45 pm,[85] video footage showed Rittenhouse being pursued across a parking lot.[79] As an unknown person fired a shot nearby, Rosenbaum chased after Rittenhouse, throwing something in his direction,[86][87] identified in some reports as a plastic bag.[88] According to Kenosha County prosecutors, Rosenbaum tried to take Rittenhouse's rifle from him.[89] Rittenhouse then fired four shots, hitting Rosenbaum in the groin, back, and left hand. The bullets fractured Rosenbaum's pelvis and perforated his right lung and liver.[90] Rosenbaum had additional minor wounds to his left thigh and forehead.[90] Rittenhouse remained near Rosenbaum and made a phone call as a bystander began administering first aid to Rosenbaum. Rittenhouse was heard saying into his cell phone, "I just killed somebody." He then fled.[91]

In another video, Rittenhouse was filmed as he continued to be chased down the street by several other protesters before tripping.[46] According to the criminal complaint, at that point, protesters are heard yelling "Beat him up!", "Get him! Get that dude!", and "Get his ass".[88] After he fell, one of the men who had been chasing Rittenhouse began to kick and attempt to disarm him, with Rittenhouse firing two shots, missing this man. Another protester, Anthony Huber, next struck Rittenhouse with a skateboard.[92][93] According to court records and video footage, Huber struck Rittenhouse's shoulder or head/neck area with his skateboard,[90] and tried to grab the rifle.[94] Rittenhouse shot Huber once in the chest, perforating his heart and right lung.[95] Gaige Grosskreutz also approached Rittenhouse; when Huber was shot, Grosskreutz stopped and put his hands up.[96] When Grosskreutz moved again towards Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse shot Grosskreutz in the arm.[97] According to court records, Grosskreutz appeared to be holding a gun.[98] Grosskreutz has acknowledged that he was carrying a gun.[99] Gunshots from other sources can be heard around the same time of Rittenhouse firing his shots from the ground.[79]

On the night of June 12, 2020, Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old African American man, was fatally shot by Atlanta Police Department (APD) officer Garrett Rolfe. APD officer Devin Brosnan was responding to a complaint that a man (Brooks) was asleep in a car blocking a restaurant drive-through lane. At the scene, Brosnan radioed for assistance, and Rolfe arrived some minutes later. Rolfe conducted a breathalyzer exam which indicated that Brooks's blood-alcohol content was above the legal limit for driving. Rolfe and Brosnan began to handcuff Brooks, at which point Brooks fought with the officers, got hold of Brosnan's taser, punched Rolfe, and ran away. Rolfe pursued Brooks on foot. Brooks half-turned and fired the taser toward Rolfe; Rolfe then fired his weapon three times at Brooks, hitting him twice from behind. A third shot struck an occupied car. Brooks died after surgery.

Footage of the incident, recorded from the officers' bodycams, a witness's phone and the restaurant's security system, was widely broadcast. Police chief Erika Shields resigned one day later; that same day, Rolfe was fired and Brosnan was placed on administrative duty. Rolfe was charged with felony murder and ten other offenses; Brosnan with aggravated assault and two counts of violation of oath.
