Once Trump got into politics, he realized, with growing intoxication, that the more incendiary he was, the more his fans would cheer. He found that he could really play with the emotions of the crowd, and that turned him on. Now he had the chance to command a mob, so his words could be linked to their actions.

Trump never cared about law and order or the cops. He was thrilled that he could unleash his mob on the Capitol and its guardians, with rioters smearing blood and feces and yelling Trump’s words and going after his targets — Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence.

Trump’s whole defense in the impeachment trial was like a low-budget movie trailer, cornier than the new Louise Linton flick. It was just another Trump flimflam reality TV show, meant to prove how he was wronged, not how he wronged the country. Trump's defense team could have read the phone book for three hours and still have their odious client be acquitted by the Senate. Simply put, Trump belongs in jail.

It was a foregone conclusion. It's not news. Everyone knows the Republicans are shit scared of their 'friends', the tail wagging the dog, white supremacist neo-nazi arseholes.

Republicans who voted for Trump’s impeachment receiving death threats

On the contrary. The "trial" was a great success and showed in graphic detail what a piece of shit Fat Donald is and now we can move on to real trials on the state level where the jury is not packed with gutless wonder Republican senators. We may yet see fatso behind bars.

I'm going to disagree with you. It wasn't a success or failure. Everyone is dug in as fuck, so basically, same old.

It is a failure for Democrats. It is a huge fail. They failed at convicting Trump. They failed twice.

Those Republicans who voted to convict should not fear. They are already politically dead.

I went into the 2020 election thinking rightfully that Trump and his backers among the elites have a long-term plan, and that therefore it seemed obvious at the time that he'd win the 2020 election. I still think that the election itself had some anomalies about it that make it very unusual, but that's not too important at this point. It's actually almost kind of irrelevant except in angering and energizing his followers. Trump has more actual real power than he had from 2016 to 2020 as a boxed-in President, and certainly before 2016. He's now well placed to lead the GOP and either run again in 2024 with far more power and support than he had in 2015 when he began all this, or put forwards another candidate that might as well be him in 2024.

My mistake wasn't in overestimating him, no, if anything I slowly kind of began to listen to others and underestimate him by 2016. Biden/Harris own the mess politically by 2024, and it'll be messy indeed.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Revising Isaiah 6.10-11 and making the Old Testament new again.

Make the minds of the senators dull, and stop their ears, and shut their eyes, so that they may not look with their eyes, and listen with their ears, and comprehend with their minds . . . Then I said, “How long, O Lord?” And he said: “Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without people, and the land is utterly desolate . . .”

Celebrate, Righties. Next we shall see Georgia taking on ex President Trump. Meanwhile President Biden's chaps will dig threw computer-systems to find evidence of him giving goodies to the Russian cabal and where/how he gas ripped off Americans. He will scurry around trying to also deal with banks, Cy Vance etc. This could be right good fun. :excited: :peace:

Biden has no interest in going after Trump which would be the right call.

Agree, it would be a waste of his (and our) time. His highest priority seems to be to help Americans be safe from a dangerous epidemic ….. a refreshing change from the prior president's top priority of anger, hate, lies and incitement.

“According to public reports, he watched television happily — happily — as the chaos unfolded,” Mr. McConnell said on Saturday. “He kept pressing his scheme to overturn the election. Even after it was clear to any reasonable observer that Vice President Pence was in serious danger, even as the mob carrying Trump banners was beating cops and breaching perimeters, the president sent a further tweet attacking his own vice president.”

Hey …. does anybody want to be Fat Donald's running mate in 2024?

Around 3:30 p.m., Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the House Republican leader and another ally of Mr. Trump’s, told CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell that he had spoken that afternoon with Mr. Trump as the Capitol was under siege. Mr. McCarthy had a shouting match with Mr. Trump during the call.Mr. McCarthy had told Mr. Trump that his own office windows were being broken into. “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are,” Mr. Trump said. “Who (the fuck?) do you think you’re talking to?” Mr. McCarthy fired back at one point including an expletive.

It was a farce and not a failure. They still managed to convince seven Republicans that Trump was guilty of a charge that would have got thrown out of court due to lack of evidence. A trail which was on incitement and yet spent most of the time on what occurred during the riots and Trumps (lack of) actions thereafter and barely anything on correlation which perhaps is what a criminal charge for incitement of insurrection would have to be based on for a conviction with a jury. So with a partisan charge, seven Republicans that any rational person would know he wasn't guilty of, still broke rank and you think that was a success? It was a failure because even Republicans wanted to remove him from reelection. And now he goes to Georgia on a criminal charge he is guilty of. If that is Winning, Give me losing any day of the week.

Well, to reflect on it a bit, I'd say the establishment substantially overestimated their own abilities and underestimated Trump and his broad base of support. They are hated by a big swath of the American people, and they don't understand it at all as I think they assess their own "woke" or "politically correct" ideals as some sort of paragon of virtue. I certainly underestimated the almost mindless ruthlessness of the deep state to try to control things, and to nakedly stuff ballot boxes. We've never really seen anything like this before in our lifetimes--Biden leaving the house to get ice cream cones, and getting asked his favorite flavor; then, going home and presumably licking his ice cream cone in the basement and putting a lid on the campaign, while Trump was holding rallies with 10k+ people everywhere he went. 80M+ people voted for Biden? It's frankly not believable.

Even Biden has very sheepishly admitted that we wouldn't have the array of vaccines available that we have today if it weren't for Trump. That's because much of the regulatory state isn't really there to keep you safe, but to put up barriers to entry for upstarts.

Anyway, I think one of the more telltale signs that the public doesn't buy the illusion of a Biden victory is the collapse of FoxNews. They went from the #1 cable network for 20 years running to falling below CNN, whose ratings are down, almost overnight.

It kind of makes me miss Hindsite's commentary, as Trump has a way of making it look biblical as though God smites the anti-Trump folks.

Stormsmith wrote:Celebrate, Righties. Next we shall see Georgia taking on ex President Trump.

 The political establishment simply undermines themselves when they do this. By impeaching Trump a second time and not bringing a single witness, they gave Trump yet another platform to smack them down, and he did. He got to show the American people one more time that the establishment is a fraud. So many of them attacked Trump using the exact same language, encouraged rioters in 2020, etc. They simply have no moral authority to judge anyone on the use of language.

Stormsmith wrote:Meanwhile President Biden's chaps will dig threw computer-systems to find evidence of him giving goodies to the Russian cabal and where/how he gas ripped off Americans.

GSA stuff is already public. There's nothing there, but feel free to waste your time on that.

Stormsmith wrote:He will scurry around trying to also deal with banks, Cy Vance etc.

Maybe he follows Elon Musk's lead and starts moving his funds into bit coin, as the establishment destroys the value of the US dollar. If he got Americans to do that, we could see a huge change in global finance. Best not to poke the bear even more. As it is, Cy Vance can't raise a nickel for re-election now. He's toast.

jimjam wrote:His highest priority seems to be to help Americans be safe from a dangerous epidemic ….. a refreshing change from the prior president's top priority of anger, hate, lies and incitement.

Even Biden admits we wouldn't have the vaccines today if it weren't for Trump repealing so much red tape and making resources available.

Joe Biden praises President Trump for ‘getting the vaccine moving’

jimjam wrote:“According to public reports, he watched television happily — happily — as the chaos unfolded,” Mr. McConnell said on Saturday.

It was very entertaining.

jimjam wrote:“He kept pressing his scheme to overturn the election. There was no scheme to overturn the election. Trump won it and everyone knows it. Trump had more protesters at the Capitol than Biden had supporters at his inauguration.

jimjam wrote:Hey …. does anybody want to be Fat Donald's running mate in 2024?

He can't run in 2028, so there will be plenty of takers.

jimjam wrote:Around 3:30 p.m., Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the House Republican leader and another ally of Mr. Trump’s, told CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell that he had spoken that afternoon with Mr. Trump as the Capitol was under siege. In the grand scheme of things, that's a good thing. Congress needs to know that the American people aren't with them. The establishment, in ejecting Trump from office, shows themselves for the non-democratic cabal they are. Biden's phony election gives him all the credibility of Petro Poroshenko's government. There was no orange revolution in the United States. There is no political support for Biden. McCarthy can't explain how they picked up 11 seats in the House, picked up governors chairs and state houses and then went on to lose the presidency. If you have coat tails, and Trump did, we have never seen someone like that lose. If the government doesn't respect the will of the people, it loses legitimacy. What did McCarthy or McConnell think was going to happen? Trump voters were just going to fall in line behind them? Man these people are dense.

Rancid wrote:HIs 2024 running mate will likely be Cruz. Will probably let Trump fuck his wife at that.

Trump's wife is way hotter.

Rugoz wrote:On a positive note: The Senators who voted to impeach represent 62% of the American population.

No. Senators represent states, not populations. A handful of Republican senators have signed their own political death warrants, but that's not really surprising. I figure this is the last hurrah for Susan Collins anyway, and she has another six more years. Toomey and Burr have already indicated they won't run again in 2022. Delta will have no passengers on their airplanes if they let Romney fly on Delta, because he gets booed everywhere he goes.

B0ycey wrote:It was a farce and not a failure. They still managed to convince seven Republicans that Trump was guilty of a charge that would have got thrown out of court due to lack of evidence.

They didn't need convincing. They have all been turncoats for a long time.

B0ycey wrote:So with a partisan charge, seven Republicans that any rational person would know he wasn't guilty of, still broke rank and you think that was a success?

Yes. It forces them out into the open, because they are not loyal to the Republican party. They are Democrat plants that purport to be Republican. There are people who vote party line who fall for this type of shit all the time.
