In the land of Deplorables a new ditty is making the rounds:

Cut n Run Joe sat on the White House
Cut n Run Joe had a great fall
All of Mama Kamala's horses,
And all of Nancy Pelosi's men
Couldn't put Cut n Run Joe back up again.

I thought the Deplorables were just bullsh*tting as usual. So I googled up "Biden, polls"; and lo and behold Senile Joe is sinking faster than the Titanic. Much to the discomfort of Lemon, the dapper Don at cnn. Joe is at 41% approval, as against 55% giving him the middle finger. And mind you this only at this instant in time. Even as I type Senile Joe may have already sunk below 41% approval. He is sinking that fast. That will truly make me giddy, as my middle finger has been stuck in the vertical since the day Senile Joe swore the Oath of office.

Another mischievous fellow somewhere pointed out that the state of Senile Joe may be even worse than the stated numbers. The fellow pointed out that these liberal polling outfits always under sample Deplorables, Patriots, Republicans, old fashioned Roman Catholics etc. I found the argument convincing. If that be true they be serving bitter Lemons at cnn.

Enough with the bullsh*tting.

This bodes ill for Democrats come mid terms next year. I suggest Senile Joe do some course corrections. First and foremost, stop Cutting n Running. Second, stop Cutting n Running. Third, stop Cutting n Running. It makes the country look bad.

Next, man up and tell Covid to go to hell. Tell Fu Manchu hell will freeze over before you run cowering inside a bunker at rumours of a virus. You are bigger than Fu Manchu and his virus.

Except this is all wasted effort. Joe was already stubborn in his youth. As stubborn as a mule. A jackass of the first order. Now to stubbornness add senility, and you have an impossible situation. Which is why a thousand Mamma Kamalas, a thousand Nancy Cruella de Ville Pelosis cannot bring Cut n Run Joe back to sanity.

Exclusive: Americans' harsh judgment on Afghanistan costs Biden's approval, down to 41%

I thought impeachment was trending on Twitter for a reason!

Yep.

Trump was impeached over far less.

The democrats are reaping the rewards of the instability they themselves sowed as a result of their endless "mahhhhh wahhhhhhh Russsiaaaaa!" Baby temper tantrums over the 2016 election results.

Biden has been informed by the Taliban his deadline is the end of August. And they won't accept any deal breaking delays. They've already proven that.

@colliric ;

The withdrawal has been one of those things that Biden has got right, and the American people for decades has generally wanted to get out of Afghanistan years ago (they weren't too upset, mind you, the military is voluntary and the gulf between military and civilian life in the USA is great). No, what has upset people has been the optics, the execution of the withdrawal.

What in the hell do people expect? Either one goes into another country and fights to win, or one doesn't do it in the first place.

They want war without war, just as they want capitalism without capitalism and they want socialism without socialism. They want all of the benefits of these things without any of the costs. And they don’t see why that’s just not possible.

@Potemkin ;

Excellent my friend, that pretty well sums it all up. Too much Civilization, some people have gone decadent and rotten with their pleasures and profits, the ''Golden Billion'', as I've read them called.

The only thing I agree with Greta Thunberg on is her point about eternal economic growth. But she should have made it clearer she was talking about the rich-ass dickheads in the room with her.

They coulda made something more creative than a Humpty Dumpty modification.

I guess they aren't very creative.

Joe Biden. He is hiding.

Under the sheets. Too distraught to eat.

The White House chefs are pretty good.

But Joe is depressed, he would rather lie in bed and stroke his wood.

@Juin You have the memory of a goldfish.

Trump made the initial plans to withdraw the last troops from Afghanistan. Why won't you give credit where credit is due? I thought that Trump cultists, such as yourself, wanted people to acknowledge when Trump did something right?

Very dishonest and sad.

Biden still polls better than Trump did. Trump was polling at 35% during the pandemic. 41% is still a lot better, for Biden.

Democrats will put the hurt on the Republicans in 2022 and Biden will bitchslap Trump in 2024. (If both Trump and Biden don't have medical problems due to their age, probably not but this might make 1 or the other not able to run)
#15187083
Without Biden you have Harris. That wouldn't bother me but I suspect it would bother those who are calling him "Cut and Run", which is ironic.

Also @Godstud is right to mention Trump who actually made the deal that Biden followed up on. So I suspect had this happened during Trumps term, these posts by the Trumpists would be very different indeed. I already knew it, but the right wingers are so partizan I don't think any of them can think for themselves. They have a herd mentality and each follow the lead of the dumbshit next to them. But I digest, Biden wanted to withdraw and that was an election pledge. I am so glad he doesn't follow the polls and actually stands for a pledge he made. Although these polls will improve over time anyway. At the moment everyone is seeing the ckustefuck in front of them and once we are out, and Biden has stood his ground with the G7 that it will be the end of the month no matter what, the cameras will be back home and Afghanistan will start its next chapter and Western people will forget. We should never had gone in the first place so why is it I am the only user mentioning Bush right now. Blame needs to go where it belongs.

Being late because you're busy isn't hiding.

But keep writing fiction, it will backfire (again).

I suspect a large contributor to Biden's recent fall in opinion polls has been the relentless, deranged onslaught of warmongering propaganda in American media over the past couple of weeks.

Based purely on what Americans say they want, the withdrawal has actually gone very smoothly. There hasn't been a single American casualty and they have got tens of thousands of people out of Kabul in the past month with minimal interference from the Taliban.

All this episode has really shown is that American corporate media outlets still have enormous power to manufacture consent for Moar Imperialism.

They're completely shameless, as well: CNN recently pushed the line that occupying Afghanistan is essential because its vast lithium reserves* are vital to the fight against climate change.

(*Of course, when some of us pointed out the importance of lithium in the US-backed coup in Bolivia we were smeared as insane conspiracy theorists by the neoliberal brain trust on this site. But I guess the one constant truth about liberals is they never fucking learn... )

This reminds me so much of the fall of Vietnam.

But it's not just Vietnam, this is how we do things. Remember when we were drawing down in Iraq and ISIS exploded?

While Trump is partly to blame, this has happened before, and I can guarantee you it will happen again.

As you pointed out, Biden's team has gotten a lot of people out. Trump's crowd has little in the way of organization skill, I shudder to think what would have happened had he still been president..

Anyway, nobody likes losing, but we can't resist getting involved but haven't been willing to do what it takes since the 1950s...

This is the problem with all colonial adventures - the ultimate scuttle by the imperial power is prone to chaos.

You'd think the Yanks might have learned this by now, having had a front row seat to the decline of the European empires in the 1960s.

But they're simple folk, bless them, and sincerely believe that colonialism is somehow different when they do it, because Jesus and Freedom. So it'll probably take at least half a dozen more doomed invasions before they finally get the message. :excited:

I hope you are right. Not because I like democrats or support them, but because 2022 is key to preventing another coup attempt in 2024.

Trump and Republicans are currently standing on a platform that is not popular with majority of their electorats opinion. (Anti-Mask and Anti-Vaccine) This is also a first priority issue closely linked to the economy. This will fuck them good both short and long term.

The US just abandoned a supposedly lithium-rich Afghanistan. How does that support your conspiracy theory? :eh:. Stupid.

Thank you for a very intelligent and thoughtful contribution, as ever. I suppose that the US ultimately abandoning Vietnam is also a blow to the idea that it was anti-communist during the Cold War.

Obvious straw man.

Abandoning Afghanistan doesn't provide support to the idea that the US is after Lithium (which it never exploited in the first place), hence it doesn't make your Bolivia conspiracy more credible. At best it's neutral about it.
