You should stick to Australian politics, as your grasp of Canadian politics is horrendous.

Trudeau Calls Early Election in Canada
The prime minister hopes his handling of the pandemic will help his Liberal Party win a majority in the House of Commons.

I shall be voting for Trudeau. The alternatives are terrible. The Conservative leadership(Oh Tool) is brutally bad.

Your source is terrible, too. Definitely a right-wing American one, with mediocre information.

People don't like Snap election power grabs. Liberal Party under Malcolm Turnbull here pulled that stunt a few years back and almost got turfed, hung on by the skin of their teeth to retain minority Government (then won the last election with Scott Morrison "new leadership" anyway, so it's all good!). Teresa May suffered the same fate, her gone but Party survived with Johnson.

Looks like Trudeau is getting turfed with the party too.

As usual, you fell for it. Dude honestly, just because it's a possibly right wing source, doesn't mean they're not reporting the polling news accurately. It's bad news for Trudeau, so they're reporting it with glee.

Even BBC thinks Trudeau needs to stage an unlikely come from behind victory.

Try reading Macleans, National Post, CBC or something Canadian if you want to learn about Canadian politics. Not many others actually get it right... particularly foreign sources.

You are correct in that many people are not liking this early election call.

I'll still vote for Trudeau. O'Toole is a Doug Ford clone.

As someone who has never voted for Trudeau, it would be fine to see him gone.

Unfortunately, none of these articles seem to say that he is going to lose. In terms of polling, the Liberal party is getting as much of the popular vote as the Conservatives. He won last time with less than that.

He will probably win again, but with a continued minority government. This is boring, and realistically, no one cares.

They could literally find over 1000 dead kids in unmarked graves in schools across Canada and people would still not care.

His days look numbered.

Interesting to see the Conservative Party opting to shift to the middle to win though, classic move. Looks like it payed off making him look like a woke nutcase.

Let's not forget when Clinton was due to deliver a landslide embarrassment to Trump.

Uhh don't you live on the opposite side of the world?

Trudeau is a corrupt entitled rich-kid moron who has zero expertise in anything to do with politics. He has never had to worry about paying a bill in his life and has no clue what the average working person has to deal with, so he's completely divorced from reality but ran because he's addicted to seeking attention because daddy never gave him enough growing up. His top political priorities have been: feminism, aboriginal rights, climate change, and legalizing marijuana, so basically he's a 2nd year college student lol.

Doug Ford is an interesting guy but still 10x better than Liberals Kathleen Wynne or Dalton McGuinty. They destroyed Ontario's finances and Trudeau is well on his way to doing the same for the federal government. The most financially irresponsible PM and government in Canadian history.

I stay involved in Canadian politics, and know that looking at foreign sources, with their own political agendas, isn't going to get you reliable information.

My best friend is a candidate for the Maver!ck party in Western Canada. We talk about Canadian politics on an almost daily basis.

Experience in politics doesn't necessarily make you a good leader. Trudeau has been a decent enough leader, and the problems with corruption in Canadian politics are nothing new.

Canadians are interested in gun control, drug legalization, climate change and aboriginal rights. If you think that's not the case then your understanding of Canadian politics is ZERO, @Unthinking Majority.

Doug Ford was a meth head and his actions during the pandemic bordered on criminal. He's what Trump would be if he tweaked.

Trudeau had a lower approval rating than Donald Trump when Trump was in office. Canadians can't stand him, he's terrible.

Those topics are good to support, but he rarely prioritizes issues that affect the average working Canadian. Housing costs, wage stagnation etc. He goes around trying to be a white knight saviour to women meanwhile the cost of them to afford a home has become the highest per income in the world.

Rob Ford was the meth head you're getting them confused. Name one policy where Doug Ford is the same as Trump. You're spreading false memes.

Yes, and that's why in his second term he only got a minority government. Not enough people were satisfied with the number of promises he kept, or how he kept some.

I voted NDP in the last election(not for Trudeau, as a result of this.

 <sigh>You do not know much about Canadians, apparently. Canadian approval ratings are not comparable to US political ones. Canada has more than 2 parties, and so approval ratings in the the 30s to 40s are nothing new, as you do not need over 50% of the population to vote for you, to get into office.

See the ratings for the previous PM Harper, and you'll see similar numbers. Canadian polling can change drastically. Angus Reid is a good source in Canada.

Here's a good poll tracker, too:

@Beren There is no "Best people". Everyone thinks that the country they were born in is the "best". It's relative.
