"Washington — The Supreme Court on Thursday struck down a New York law that placed strict restrictions on carrying concealed firearms in public for self defense, finding its requirement that applicants seeking a concealed carry license demonstrate a special need for self-defense is unconstitutional."

"In a 6-3 ruling, the Supreme Court reversed a lower court decision upholding New York's 108-year-old law limiting who can obtain a license to carry a concealed handgun in public. Proponents of the measure warned that a ruling from the high court invalidating it could threaten gun restrictions in several states and lead to more firearms on city streets."

"Justice Clarence Thomas delivered the majority opinion for the ideologically divided court, writing that New York's "proper-cause requirement" prevented law-abiding citizens from exercising their Second Amendment right, and its licensing regime is unconstitutional."

Now all law abiding citizens of the USA will be able to carry guns.

@Scamp Race card? You're the one making it about race, you lowlife piece of racist shit. YOU are the fuckwit who brought it into this discussion.

The people living in poverty, in poor areas without good education, commit most of the crimes in the USA. Ponder that you inbred sack of shit.

SCOTUS Vacates 4 Decisions Upholding Gun Control Laws Whose Constitutionality Now Looks Doubtful
Jacob Sullum | 7.1.2022 4:40 PM

The Court told appeals courts to reconsider their conclusions in light of last week's ruling against New York's restrictions on public possession of firearms.

The Supreme Court yesterday vacated four appeals court decisions upholding gun control laws, remanding the cases for reconsideration in light of its decision last week in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen. The remanded cases involve Hawaii's restrictions on carrying guns for self-defense, California's 10-round magazine limit, a similar New Jersey law, and Maryland's "assault weapon" ban.

What happens next time when some kids kills 5 bystanders?

For starters, we execute the "kids" quickly (say within a year or two) and we begin to repair the damage of the broken link between crime and punishment.

Sure, gotta give the state enough time to "study" the active shooter, but then schwack them. Do that repeatedly and don't reward violent crime.

BTW, the MF who just tried to kill Lee Zeldin was released on his own recognizance. That shit has to stop. If not, people will take matters in to their own hands and right fully so. If we have to go LOTJ, so be it. But this shit will not stand.

Fuck this justice legal system.
