If anyone reads the article in the OP, they will note that it does not mention any actual troop deployments to Cuba or anywhere else in Latin America by Russia.

In fact, no evidence has been presented that either China or Russia has provided support for dictatorships in Latin America.

Sure, it is not true that Russia and China support the Cuban regime which happens to be a dictatorship as is Russia and China too.

You want to assert that to justify your hypocrisy and that is fine but no one is required to pretend to take you seriously.

Since Venezuela is not a dictatorship, my point still stands.

Also, the fact that they flew there does not mean they are now part of the Venezuelan air force, or even that they did more than park there.

But if you want, we can compare and contrast:

Russia sent a few planes.

The US waged a multi decade war of imperialism and dictatorship against leftists and sovereignty movements.

Would you say that the former justifies the latter?

Nobody claimed anything about justifying something. Strawman.

You are the one who denies Russian and Chinese support for the dictatorship in Cuba.

Blaming the US for supporting dictatorships exposed you because you are having difficulties applying the same standard to Russia and China.

Also, 99% of Cuban military equipment is Russian.

Again, let us compare and contrast:

Russia sells military equipment to Cuba. In this regard, Cuba supports Russia, much the same way we say that one supports local businesses by shopping there.

This support is then confined to a mutually beneficial arrangement, as capitalism puts it.

Meanwhile, the USA not only sells military equipment, but also gives it away for free, pays for death squads, trained torturers, deploys troops, and openly justified dictatorships.

In your attempt to justify Russian support for a military dictatorship you are making even more errors -this is always the case when one doubles down because:

1) Cuba is not capitalist to enjoy the fruits of such a relationship like South Korea for example, and as such the relationship is totally one-sided economically. No country supported by Russia grew successfully and Russia itself is putrefying.

2) Military hardware to military dictatorships is mainly used for internal suppression and for no other beneficial trade.

3) Russia has forgiven large military debts of Cuba, effectively arming them with stuff they use against Cubans essentially for free.

4) Why do you distinguish between US support for Latin American dictatorial regimes and Russian support for Latin American dictatorial regimes?

We all agree that US support for dictatorships is bad, but why do you disagree that Russian support for dictatorial regimes is just as bad?

@wat0n

Sure, let us accept that Venezuela is a dictatorship for doing what Trump did, ignore the separation of powers as check against autocracy.

Then we are still put in a position of compare and contrast:

Russia parked a few planes.

The USA meanwhile deliberately hid information about a coup against democracy in Venezuela, as well as all the other atrocities previously mentioned.

I did a quick Google search.

The countries that have recently deployed military against protesters in the Americas are Chile, Colombia, and the USA.

While there is evidence of police brutality against some of the protesters during the recent nationwide protests in Cuba, there is no evidence of military deployment. Even western and anyi-Cuban media does not seem to show any.

Ancient news. None of the current dictatorships in the region have American support. Literally zero.

I did a quick google search and Russia is supplying the military hardware for the Cuban dictatorship to maintain its power in Cuba.

Why is this not a bad thing according to you?

This is incorrect.

Biden provided material support for Colombian death squads, some of whose members are still politically active (i.e killing people) in Colombia.

If you want to argue that direct US financial support (from the current POTUS) of death squads that are currently killing political dissidents is not an example of attacking democracy because Colombia is not deemed as a dictatorship by western governments, feel free.

Please note that you are not denying that the current US government is actively supporting death squads that kill dissidents.

I also find it odd that you are so obsessed about democracy. I mean, you are not a democrat anyway so why would you care about it?

Your incorrect beliefs about me are not an argument.
