world news wrote:Rebels hunt for Gadhafi after lightning takeover of Tripoli

The startling rebel breakthrough in Tripoli has turned into a manhunt for Moammar Gadhafi, the mercurial leader whose remaining loyalists are fighting to keep control of shrinking pockets of the Libyan capital.

After every mechanical aerial campaign, there is a manhunt.

I think this is added to give the mechanical death a "human" touch.

Imagine if it came down to a helicopter view car chase, jesus newsmen around the world would hump each others legs, the spooge would rain from their ivory towers... And that's all that really matters.

Afghanistan was destroyed by aerial bombardment, and the farmers and their families were traumatized by our thuggish soldiers. And then.... the hunt for Bin Laden.

Iraq was the same kind of scenario, but with a shorter duration: Bomb the shit out of the country, destroy water supplies and hospitals, get some lucrative oil deals signed. And then..... the Hunt for Saddam.

It helps these wars taste better to the Western genocide-consumer.

In a very real sense, Qatz, if there was no manhunt it would be possible for the charisma of the leader to help launch a rebellion that would lead to a civil war.

Civil wars hurt the innocents just as much as foreign bombs.

Really, Verv?

Who's charisma is responsible for all the West's bombing campaigns? Or is it only foreigners who are dumb enough to let themselves be lead around without thinking for themselves?

Gaddafi was a hero for most people in Africa. And he had big plans for decolonizing the continent's finances. But these things are very complicated changes that lots of other people need to be in on. They can be done with any group of political leaders that hasn't been bought off by Western capital. Was Gaddafi really the ONLY ONE that hadn't been bought yet?

Perhaps killing him is a way for the West to know what remorseless killers of foreigners we are. It's a way of letting "them" know that "we" are robotic killing machines who do whatever capital tells us to.
