Striking a sarcastic note over the increase in petrol and diesel prices, BJP on Wednesday said it was a "noble thanksgiving" by the
UPA government and its first "proven achievement of first 100 days".
"This seems to be a noble thanksgiving of UPA government to the people of India after formation of the new government. They had reduced the prices of petrol and diesel and after the results and formation of government they have decided to enhance it again," BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
The government announced an increase of Rs 4 per litre in petrol prices and Rs 2 per litre for diesel.
"This is the first proven achievement of the first 100 of this government," he added.
