Yet another cop murders someone. Mumbai has been plagued by conspicuous abuse of powers, unable to keep it hidden as in America for instace. Hopefully reform will come about soon...

Mumbai police's black sheep continue to sully the force's image with their dark deeds. Days after an assistant sub-inspector was arrested for killing his mistress in the Elphinstone Road area, another sub-inspector has been nabbed for murdering his wife and dumping her body near Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kurla.
The incident takes the number of policemen from Mumbai held for serious crimes in 2005 to four. The first two cases involved rape (constables Sunil More at Marine Drive and Chandrakant Pawar at Sahar).
On Saturday, Nehru Nagar police arrested PSI Vijay Kamble, 35, for strangulating his wife, 33-year-old Alka, after accusing her of having illicit relations with another man. He is now cooling his heels inside Nehru Nagar lock-up. A holiday court at Bhoiwada remanded him to police custody till January 9.
TOI investigations revealed that Kamble has served in the police department for the last seven years. He was a constable and had recently been promoted as a PSI. A source said, "He was very suspicious of his wife.

In fact, even while he was undergoing training at the police training school last year, he kept calling up his parents and friends in Mumbai and inquiring about Alka."
The Kambles were married 12 years ago and have two sons, aged seven and ten. "Kamble suspected his wife was having an affair at her workplace and used to question her frequently on this issue," the source said.
