Why?

You should bond with humans, not machines. It is embarrassing to admit something liek that in public, isn't it?

I already fuck my own hand just like every other male on these forums that does and/or doesn't have a mate. I would prefer humans, but when humans won't comply with my desire to release my biological needs all over them or i don't want to deal with the horseshit that comes with a real human partner then i'm content with blowing my load inside a sexy looking robot.

The Catholic Church is against pornography.

Do you adhere to the Catholic Church but then are not against pornism?

Instead of watching porns young men and women should go and meet each other then fall madly in love and get married.

To be perfectly honest, watching pornography, in my experience, has been healthy and has made my sex life so much better.

Pornography has given me access to a much more interesting sex world than the extremely boring vanilla sex that exists among normal, unimaginative people.

My relationships with women and my sex life has gotten so much better because of porn, and there haven't been any negative side effects whatsoever.

Like I say, I'm an anomaly. I just want to be acknowledged, and let the world know that not ALL people who watch porn have problems, and in fact the exact opposite has been the case with me.

If you don't like porn, don't watch it. Please stop righteously preaching about how pornography is bad for everyone. It isn't.

AFAIK wrote:I like it when conservatives blame porn for sexual aggression i.e. rape and the lack of sexual aggression i.e. too many singles, delayed marriage, delayed mother/ fatherhood, etc.

Which is it?

Both are correct IMO, because they are two reactions from two kinds of people.

The more aggressive kind would believe women implicitly like being ravished, while the more withdrawn ones lose interest in the real world after seeing how "fantastic" porn is.

Ultimately though, the solution should be reaching out and helping these people, rather than punishing everybody and banning porn altogether.

@Unthinking Majority, you really make some very bold and proud statements concerning your own fallen state. You are unnecessarily graphic.

I think this shows the synergy of sin... and how pointless it can be.

I understand the desire to do something like that because it does come off as a release, but to boast about it as if it does not matter at all is really something else. Moreover, while forums do provide some degree of anonymity, it's simultaneously signaling your weakness & social inadequacy as an adult man who is interested in getting a robot because he is incapable of getting married.
#15012823
Maybe, @Verv, you are merely projecting your own insecurity and weakness by attacking Unthinking Majority for holding a different opinion than your silly "sin-related" one. Oft times people who can express how they actually think are the strong people.

Sex, for many, isn't a matter of "marriage". It is simply a very fun and wonderful pass-time, for many. Sex isn't sinful. It's a biological and psychological imperative, for many.

I will agree that the most fulfilling sex(in my experience) is that with a person who loves you, but sex isn't always about love. Granted, sex and love are great when combined. Synergy, if you will.

@Godstud , it's possible to have the virtue of being honest, strong, kind, courageous, etc., and simultaneously be prideful, lusty, and unchaste. In fact, sometimes it requires some element of virtue to even be such a sinner.

Ted Bundy, for instance, was undoubtedly bold and courageous when he killed two women in one day at Lake Sammamish at separate hours and in an unrelated manner. This is a seldom repeated feat. He also did this stone cold sober. But that doesn't matter.

The prostitute who sells herself on the corner has some degree of honesty and courage, too, doesn't she?

The guy who wades into the big crowd of revelers with the "God Hates Figs" sign is also displaying some virtue.

But to have the virtue of courage or honesty while being in error is not an accomplishment.

Sex isn't sinful to you because you deny God and do not believe in sin.

I personally don't see anything wrong with porn and I prefer soft porn myself. Masturbation is probably the safest, cheapest sex too because you don't have to worry about catching an STD or an unwanted pregnancy. You gotta have a ton of money these days to have kids and right now the world is way over-populated as it is. And you have to be willing to make some serious sacrifices to be a decent parent.

Speaking from a perspective as a guy, from my experience, if you have sex with a woman, you are always going to pay a high cost whether it be paying a prostitute or catching an STD if you are careless about who you sleep with or just sleeping with a bunch of women (which will eventually cause you to catch an STD) or having to make a serious monogamous commitment if she is a decent high class woman which is a cost you pay for sex in return. Outside of masturbation their is no such thing as cheap sex. You are always going to pay a cost.

Porn or soft porn is the great substitute to prevent unwanted pregnancy and/or getting an STD until you are ready to commit to a decent high class woman who is worth the cost of making a serious monogamous commitment to her. Most women in my experience expect commitment in return for sex and if you are are not willing to give that to them they become very angry.

So outside of masturbation, you are going to pay one way or another. I have known guys get their cars keyed because they slept with a woman and they weren't willing to give them commitment in return. Guys will tell a woman "hey, I am not willing to commit, do you still want to have sex" and women will agree but at the end of the day, women are going to want commitment in return even if they told a guy they agree to sex without commitment just before giving consent to have sex. Always a price and a cost to pay in the end. Sex outside of masturbation is never free. That's why I personally don't see anything wrong with masturbation.

So you're praising the morality of a serial killer, now? :eh: I guess after defending Nazis this is your next step?

What has that to do with anything? Sex isn't a sin, unless you see it as such. You do. That's sad.

Promoting hatred and intolerance against other people is not displaying virtue. :knife:

Verv wrote:But to have the virtue of courage or honesty while being in error is not an accomplishment.
So you're a case of the pot calling the kettle black, is that it? Or are you married? Did you have sex before your current marriage?

Verv wrote:Sex isn't sinful to you because you deny God and do not believe in sin.

@Verv
Sin
an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.

Since I am not of your particularly strange religion, I don't consider sex to be sinful, like some fundamentalist might. Sex is part of being human. It's a natural biological imperative among all living creatures. Therefore, when I had sex before I was married, I wouldn't have considered it sinful. My wife didn't consider it sinful, either, and she's religious(Buddhist).

Political Observer wrote:That's why I personally don't see anything wrong with masturbation.
That's because there isn't anything wrong with it, unless you are part of a self-hating religion.

Watching too much porn is unhealthy. Most people can agree with that. Too much of most things isn't healthy, mind you.

Just quoting that church to make a point, but I agree with the rest of the post, porn is a substitute for the real thing & taken out of the context of any meaningful relationship over time is hardly consumating the physical aspects as a whole.
#15013303
@Godstud , I clearly talked about virtue in a way that was highly compartmentalized. That is to say, I spoke of how virtues in one specific area of our behavior do not have a bearing on the overall virtue of the actions that we take, so a serial killer like Ted Bundy killing two people in one day had to muster up courage (which is a virtue) but his act is clearly foul & stained to the core. The fact that you would then turn around and say

So you're praising the morality of a serial killer, now? :eh: I guess after defending Nazis this is your next step?

shows that you are utterly unwilling to interpret what I write with a shred of honesty.

What's the deal?

My comments are made in half-jest. Porn is not healthy nor unhealthy, it all depends on context. If you're watching a lot of porn for years while being too afraid to ask girls out on dates, it becomes unhealthy. If you become single and have no desire to be in a relationship for a modest period of time and masturbate to some porn, or you watch porn with your partner to get some ideas for sex, then porn is not unhealthy.

We need to be careful not to overgeneralize & consider context.

Also, what is "a sin" or not is completely subjective nonsense, appeal to religion is not a valid argument. Porn is not in the bible, nor is the bible often consistent or logical. Churches that don't want priests to marry or have sex or watch porn and then cover-up pedophilia and affairs are not adequate arbiters of morality. The healthiness of porn should depend on evidence & logic.

Listen people: watching too much porn is just as much unhealthy as watching too much horror or Clint Eastwood macho bullshit or playing video games too much is. Sure, lying in your bed and jerking off while watching porn completely alone 24/7 is definitely unhealthy, but doing it occasionally is just absolutely normal in any case.

Every virtue, carried to an extreme, is a vice.

Also, there is a safe and toxic dose for virtually everything. There's a toxic amount of water you can drink and oxygen you can breathe. There's a safe amount of plutonium and mercury and UV radiation our body can be exposed to. Over-generalizations are illogical, context means everything.
