Aside from the common sense angle, he also states that the Wuhan plague will become endemic to the human race, as in to say that it'll be a recurring illness. He also mentions that the Western governments dropped the ball by not taking advantage of the four week window that the Chinese government bought them, after putting more than ten cities on lockdown. Of course, this wouldn't have been necessary in the first place if the Chinese hadn't tried to cover up the outbreak and instead immediately quarantined Wuhan. Travel bans would have also contained the outbreak, but the 'threat' of being called racist and xenophobic took priority I suppose.
