Very few people who enter without documents are Public Health/Community Health people coming here to do consulting. This has nothing to do with Biden at all. The wall is, for me, a solution looking for a problem. And.

I grew up here and am not in the slightest frightened by the almost excessively peaceful and law abiding people. I do not fear elements of Mexican and Central American culture that are joining with my lily white background. I honor Dia de los Muertos not fear it. Marachi music makes be happy. A 15 year old young lady having a Quinceañera does not send me running terrified to the gun store. Devout Roman Catholics are, in my experience, really good Christians with a devotion to caring for the poor. In short, I am not cripplingly terrified of brown people. And I am not hypocrite enough to support building a billion dollar wall while leaving employers virtually untouched for violating the law and hiring illegals.

Until now every single US Republican president has called for immigration reform. The current racist trend is what is feeding this obsession with overwhelmingly peaceful, law abiding and productive people chosen as a diversion for white rage. Rage that comes from a lack of upward mobility, stagnant or declining buying power, and a general sense that government is not listening to them. (It is not listening on the issues important to many Americans.)

And there is another thing they have in common with Republicans, indeed, one commonality that is even stronger than acceptance of capitalism: There are plenty of immigrants who are fairly religious Christians (both Catholic and Protestant, the latter actually following American Protestant churches), hostile to abortion and socially conservative in general.

Latin Americans are not as pro-market as Americans (although those of us who are willing to take the risks of moving abroad, and to the US specifically, are probably less averse to them than most) but there's plenty of religious people. If they were smarter/able to think long term, I think Republicans would try to pivot away from anti-immigration (at least from Latin America) in the long run and try to take advantage of this.

In the US they are. And they have been for a long time. Indeed the statistics on all deaths are used by a wide variety of people engaged in research, public health and health care. If you want to know how many people died of snakebite in 2012 the number is available.

Corona virus in different for the obvious reasons. First it is under the category, "excess mortality". (It is not exactly what you think but close enough.) It is largely preventable and this prevention can happen in real time. Unlike cancer or auto accidents, there are immediate steps that can be taken to reduce these deaths. And....And this is why so many layman like those who post here don't get it, Corona Virus numbers affect the numbers researchers must use for their work in other areas.

So the answer to your question is that all mortality statistics are just as readily available as are Covid statistics.
