I would like to have Puerto Rico admitted as a state. To hell with the racists.
Meanwhile, there are a lot of Puerto Rican registered voters in PA, and if the margin there is, as I expect, razor thin, they could put Harris over the top.

The island Puerto Ricans are non voting statutory citizens. Not constitutionally guaranteed citizens. It is a one way type of citizenship in which the US Congress is the one who rules over Puerto Rico in a one way relationship, where the islanders have no say so of import on anything at all locally. All the power rests in the US Congress.
If you study the Insular Cases that were challenged about Puerto Rico's status in the SCOTUS arguments? It is basically there in black and white. Never going to give us statehood or independence. Just colonial dependent one way street exploitation status. They have to do so. The alternative is creating a legal precedent in which almost all of the land and resources that were about illegal moves will be nullified and voided and then a tsumani of law suits (study the Department of the Interior cases in the US government archives). From Native American land reclamations, American Samoa land disputes with the US military, Marshall Islander claims, US Virgin Islands, Solomon Islands, Guam, and there are a long list of statutory problems of people who occupied a land base and the US government using illegal force imposed citizenship on them to grab land. But it was not a fully guaranteed constitutional citizenship. It was a second rate statutory non voting with no real representation citizenship. Hawaii got an apology from the Clinton administration accepting that the overthrow of the Queen of Hawaii was illgeal. But it is over. Most Hawaiian land is occupied and controled by US corporations and US military and US backed banks and businesses. Too late. They are trying to get something back. Too late for that once you are a state. You lost your country. To the Greedy and the Immoral. That is the reality of losing to people who impose with violence on your sovereignty. No one discusses it in the USA: It is never discussed because it exposes the ugliness of Empire and what it requires to keep the charade of Democracy.
If they give in to Puerto Rico with the statehood or independence pressures? They lose control of that land base. They lose control of the balance of power.
They intend to abuse us forever. without ever ending the colonization. The only scenario where it might end is selling us off to another foreign power for either cash or a better deal for the US with that foreign power. A trinket of war.
Like Spain did.
If that were to happen? You will see very very angry Puerto Ricans. And an IRA Irish Republic situation might happen. That happened in the 1950s with the nacionalistas and Pedro Albizu Campos.
So, I say let them keep insulting Puerto Ricans. We need as a people to be united. To make positive change. We can agree to not deal with racist people with racist mindsets. Everyone agrees on that one in Puerto Rico.
The pro Independence option is almost the same as the pro Statehood Puerto Ricans. Once that happens if we can unite as one being insulted by the racist Republicans that disparage us publicly and start pulling away from the USA?
It is game over. Independence is going to win.
I think freedom costs a lot in this world. That is why kicking out Empires is critical in Caribbean history. Also Latin American history. They are mostly vampires. Sucking your blood out until you die off.
That has always been the purpose of colonial setups. Draining the lifeblood out of the people who are colonized.
So--let them insult us. They need to see that their racism has consequences.
Everything has consequences.
