Much of what has been reported about what supposedly happened at Tiananmen Square , in 1989 , has been distorted, or even outright fabricated. In short , it wasn't simply a peaceful protest, and it wasn't exactly a mass movement for democracy either. Rather it was in part at least a counter revolutionary conspiracy against the People's Republic.
