skinster wrote:Venezuela BAD!!! but let me tell you about America, the GREAT very successful country in a recession where there are no uprisings against police brutality and the state perpetuates itself by destroying countries and lives on every continent, oh it is so good that country that is attempting to destroy the other one in this thread, so very great and I'm a complete fucking idiot, yes me, JR. :D

One thing is to be in a recession and a whole different beast is to live in a country where basic services, agriculture, fuel industry and general businesses don't really function. One is ultimately far worse than the other. But hey, do go on. Tell us how the evil MURICA is the reason for all Venezuelan problems.

JohnRawls wrote:Then you understand what socialist economic policies degrade to.

Yes. They degrade to being sanctioned or bombed by the Empire, which will not allow any new and better forms of government to arise.

The mafia must remain in charge of all its unsustainable rackets. There is no alternative.

The Empire prevents mankind from improving its relationship to the planet and to one another.

This is what "socialist economic policies" will continue to degrade to until the Empire is laid to rest once and for all.

In the meantime, let's wait for our poison needles as we go bankrupt.

What Countries you think were sanctioned unfairly? The only one that comes to mind is Cuba but then again, Cuba sanctions go all way back to the cold war. Venezuela? We all know why even if you or others don't want to admit it. North Korea? Again, you yourself should know why it is under sanctions. Belarus? Well it currently doesn't have any sanctions on it by both EU or US. But there will be soon, again for a clear reason.

Provide examples please Qatz of countries who were sanctioned without a reason. Preferably after the Cold War aka 91 and onwards.

The structure of this question (and the logic behind it) is as follows:

"Which black jaywalker was choked to death or shot in the back unfairly by the police?"

Hope this helps you find the answer to your question in your own head.

(all of them is the answer)

Wait. There may be some merit to what JohnRawls is trying to tell us through the intermediary of Yuri Bezmenov.

Bezmenov mentions that "subversion" is 90% of spy work, so perhaps the subversion that JohnRawls is trying to justify in this thread - of Venezuela, by rich Western oligarchs - is actually 90% of what the CIA, MI5, Al Qaeda, Mossad etc. do.

Interesting.

So they only resort to assasination and warfare in those 10% of cases where their subversion doesn't get them what they want.

I wonder how many other mafias have these kinds of numbers: 90% extortion, 10% murder.

In a sense it is a two way street. The problem that you are trying to imply is that it works in democratic societies and doesn't work that well in undemocratic societies. Venezuela is not a democratic society for a long time now.

So although a similar process is possible in Venezuela but it will have to be done by different means. My belief is that the Liberal Democratic system is superior by itself and hence people advocate for it. While the heavy handed Socialist societies try to repress the knowledge and advocate their ideology by the said methods as in the video.

You supported Random Guaido and complain about democracy.

Everyone should believe basically the opposite of what you say, since the opposite of what you say is true.

My belief is that the Liberal Democratic system is superior by itself and hence people advocate for it.

It doesn't exist if you mean powerful Western governments, including the Empire. There is nothing liberal or democratic about the state that runs the world like an unfrandly hardman and acts like a psychopathic serial killer state towards any country that wants to go its own way. It is the state that might result in the extinction of our species sooner than nature intended, but you seem to love it for some weirdo reason, what's wrong with you?

Let's go back to my above point where the opposite of what you say is true here, again.

Venezuela libre!

My parents lived in Venezuela for a few years in the 70s. They often bring up how wonderful of a place it was. That said, I don't really know what their government was like in the 70s. They even considered trying to stay there. I could have been Venezuelan.

Sidenote: I always wonder what the world would be like if Gran Colombia never broke up and the Dominican Republic join the nation. Perhaps, it's good Gran Colombia broke up before the DR got its independence and joined it. The DR is very easily arguably the strongly Latin American economy for the last 15-20 years now. The development there from the time I was a kid to now, is astounding. I'd venture to say, that the only other country that has moved upwards faster is China.

I don't think I'll have time to watch that anytime soon. However, I remember that time. One of my best friends back in Miami (still hang with him when visit) is Venezuelan. I recall his family being very concerned when Chavez took over at that time. I remember just not really understanding/caring. I was in high school after all. A few years later, I made good friends with another Venezuelan that I still hang with. His family decided to leave right after Chaves took over. Basically, they saw the writing on the wall for them. Full disclosure, they were part of the wealthier classes in Venezuela, so that makes sense.

I wonder what dark secrets his family has.

I think that when the communists take over America, I'll have to get the fuck out too. Pretty sure my back will get put against the wall during the purges.

So you explained it yourself. Rich people who don't want to share the nation's or their own wealth piss off to countries less into equality and then cry from afar but less about the fact that they're greedy and don't like sharing, for obvious reasons.

Anyway, you should watch the film sometime, it really is excellent and also pretty short.

For the secrets his family has, it has been said by a few philosophers that all fortunes start with a crime. That includes your own family's wealth, and my own (if my father had gotten rich as part of a racket).

And our rackets in the Americas are exactly like the rackets we fled in Europe. All that genocide of First Nations, and the elites of our nations invented nothing new that is of any use to other cultures as far as politics goes.... except Cuba.

The (European) purges you talk about are a natural part of ridding a host of a parasite infection. Once the infection becomes serious, the normal economy stops working for most people, and they soon rise up and kill the rich, or at least get rid of most of them.

This is the only way for civilizations to survive... and it is via this dynamic of enriching parasites - leading to eradication of parasites and many non-parasites - that we will go extinct.

I wonder if I qualify as "rich".
