I run a Linux Lubuntu Samba and SSH server as part of my private home client-server local area network. I have had Chinese hackers attempt to hack my SSH server, but fortunately my security measures have thus far proven sufficient. Talking with a few Australians I know, they have told me they have had problems with Chinese hackers as well over there down under.

I wouldn't want to buy anything out of China knowing how the Communist Party over there wants to get it's hands into everything and surveil everything both domestically and abroad. I just don't like having "Big Brother" from ANY government constantly spying on or surveilling me or always looking over my shoulder watching my every move. It's a bit creepy. I generally take counter-measures to minimize or prevent that from happening when possible given I value my privacy.
