Refugees won't be going to Europe if Turkey is in a war with Greece and other countries. The rest of your points are valid. These nations are puppets of Washington and this latest change reflects unease about Turkey's turn away from the West. I totally understand that turning away.

The French calling for sanctions have already accounted for all that and your attempts to push migrants in failed in the past and they will fail again.

Istanbuller, i am not sure you understand your situation clearly. Currently, you are violating international law. EU can crush Turkey like the little pest it is. The reason why we haven't done it is not because we can't do it but because there was no need or will to do it. Your current actions are just increasing that need and will for us. If you think that Turkey will fare any better than Libya then you are greatly mistaking. You are already a divided nation and we can expect even larger support if we decide to squash Turkey.

Could you clarify what international law does Turkey violate?

How are you going to crush us? Is there an army to do it?

Turkey shot down a Russian warplane. This is something which wasn't happened even in Cold War era. Do you think Erdogan will be shy about shooting down a French or Greece jet or sinking your frigates? I don't think so.

Your trying to steal Greek territory.

We have a lot of armies that we are not willing to use right now. As for shooting a jet, what did you expect Russia would do? Attack a Nato member? that won't happen. But EU can kick you out of Nato if needed. Obviously you can shoot back and may be sink a ship or two. There is no scenario of Turkey vs EU conflict where Turkey comes out on top. Heck it will be basically EU choosing on how much pain is the EU wants to inflict on Turkey. Be it only economic or also militaristic etc

No. These are disputed areas because of ridiculous claims Greece had made. Greece thinks that tiny Greek islands have greater rights than mainland Turkish coastals. This is laughable. Greece cannot claim anything legal.

Again, no. You don't have armies. You can't face any threat on your own, let alone a Russian warjet.

Nobody can kick Turkey out of NATO. Turkey can leave it if it wants. We could veto France entrance to NATO if we wanted in 2009. It is a late one.

Learn some history. French Army is not even taken seriously in NATO. Americans think they are kind of a joke.

Seriously, think what you want. If Erdogan starts a war then we will simply crush you and help Greece. You shouldn't have any illusions here where exactly EU stands. If you don't believe this then you can try i guess.

As for Erdogan, good luck with him. Your economy is shattering in to pieces and the population is in a free fall of downwards mobility. You can call us when you will need a bail out but obviously there are going to be political pre-conditions for it.

As much as the US hates Turkey it likes France these days. Do not make a fatal mistake. France is a nuclear power and the US could do Turkey before lunch.

Old military saying:

The day we bombed your cities, destroyed your military and put the population to starvation was the defining moment in your life. For us it was Tuesday.

Ultra-nationalists usually do not realize that their disagreeable arrogance will lead to this, until they are literally being blasted into oblivion.

I am afraid Member Istanbuller is one of those people, as are at least half of the population in the Middle East and Asia as a whole.

Several chapters of the UN charter and the UN law of the Sea.

Here is Erdogan posing in front of a pathetic map akin to banana republic presidents, the map shows most of the Aegean Greek islands as Turkish. :knife:

In addition, Erdogan's ally, claims "war with Greece only a matter of time" today.

While Forbes is analysing today how Greece already has the military advantage on the air & the sea and how by the end of 2020 that qualitative advantage will be very formidable.

Greece makes and has made very wise, prudent, targeted and staggered investments in its airforce, navy, radars and missiles. While Turkey is chasing megalomaniac dreams trying to create its own defense industry from scratch at a time when behemoths of military equipment like Germany, France and the UK are even struggling to sell equipment. No national defense industry has survived without exports and Turkey has no allies for its military complex to survive let alone succeed.

While you re trying to build your own jet fighter we buy used 4th and 5th fighters at a discount with zero interest that give us a formidable advantage over you.

Same story for frigates and submarines where we already hold a significant advantage operating stealth latest class equipment. And this without having made a single purchase in over 10 years.

The fact is we are organised, constituted and as you Turks and Arabs say: “The Greeks are more stingy than the Jews”, or something along these lines ;)

'Abomination!’ Greek PM savages Erdogan as he orders Turkey to stop its threats

TURKISH President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is guilty of "many and excessive abominations" in the eastern Mediterranean region, Greece's Prime Minister Kyrioakos Mitsotakis has claimed, warning talks could only begin when Turkey's "threats" ended.

Of Mr Erdogan's many and excessive abominations, I hold only one for the dialogue and I respond with six clear words: The challenges stop, the discussions begin.

And he warned he was ready to involve the United Nations in the dispute, which continues to simmer with Turkish vessel the Oruc Reis continuing to undertake research close to the Greek island of Kastellorizo. Speaking today, Mr Mitsotakis said: "Of Mr Erdogan's many and excessive abominations, I hold only one for the dialogue and I respond with six clear words: The challenges stop, the discussions begin.

"Our country can and wants to discuss the definition of maritime zones in the Aegean based on international law without blackmailing itself and without violating logic.

"Let the threats go away so that the contacts can start.”

Mr Mitsotakis said in addition to what he characterised as the "aggression" of Turkey, Greece was also faced with behaviour from its neighbour which challenged "any rule of the United Nations Charter".

He added: "With a rhetoric that distorts history and distorts geography, undermining legitimacy and moves that endanger security throughout the Mediterranean."

"That is why I want to tell you that today the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, will deliver my letter to the UN Secretary General where the illegal activity of Ankara is presented.

"Like the threats it poses to stability in the region, which is crucial for international trade."

Greece's plan to buy French jets could trigger 'new arms race'
"In the difficult days we are going through, any tension anywhere on the world map is a challenge for the peacekeepers and even more so when it manifests itself on the eastern border of Greece, which is also the eastern border of Europe."

Mr Mitsotakis warned: "Turkey's illegal action is an international challenge that requires an international response and the only compass can be international law.

"Greece has never hidden that at the same time with the rights it defends the good neighbourhood, diplomacy is another aspect of the country's power."

Also speaking today, government spokesman Stelios Petsas suggested Turkey could face economic sanctions as a result of the ongoing dispute.

Greece in recent months had demarcated maritime zones with Italy and Egypt with "absolute respect for good neighbourly relations" and the Law of the Sea, Mr Mitsotakis said.

He added: "On the contrary, Turkey, sometimes with the illegal Turkish-Libyan memorandum, sometimes with illegal activities in the Eastern Mediterranean, sometimes with successive illegal NAVTEX and sometimes with the provocative rhetoric of its leadership, acts as a rioter and a factor of instability in our wider region.

"This is the conclusion reached by all important international actors, in Europe and in America.

"Our European partners have already drawn up a list of sanctions and are calling on Ankara to de-escalate; otherwise the sanctions will be activated.

"The United States, with repeated statements by the State Department, condemns Turkey's behaviour.

"Therefore, it is up to Ankara to choose either practical de-escalation or sanctions."

Mr Petsas added: "Greece will be neither forced, terrorised nor blackmailed.

"We therefore expect the neighbouring country to abandon provocation that leads to dead ends and come to the table of exploratory contacts. With honest diplomacy, not adventurous propaganda.

"With a realistic framework, not arbitrary and illegal, under International Law."

"And finally under a single document: The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.

"So that we can seek a mutually acceptable agreement on the only bilateral issue, the delimitation of our maritime zones.

"And, in case we do not agree, to proceed with the drafting of a joint application for the matter to the International Court of Justice in The Hague."
