I wonder if it could have been "fixed", but Labour should've had a firm anti-Tory and anti-UKIP, so anti-right-wing, stance on it, but Corbyn rather delegated the whole issue to Starmer while being as flaccid on it as he could be. In my opinion he actually didn't mind losing the Brexit battle and meant to become PM regardless of its outcome, which was nonsensical, of course.
