RT DE had received a “strike” for uploading material that violated YouTube’s standards on COVID-19 misinformation. During this suspension, RT DE tried to circumvent this restriction by using another YouTube channel to upload its videos. Basically, RT DE acted like a rogue YouTuber spreading COVID-19 misinformation. On its German website, there is a fictitious article: Filmed with a hidden camera: Johnson & Johnson scientists advise against using their own vaccine. The fake video was originally created by Project Veritas founded by James O'Keefe in 2010. Twitter has banned James O'Keefe in 2021, while YouTube has not banned him yet.
