Erdogan wants more concessions from dementia biden:

Just two days after agreeing to lift deal-breaking objections to Sweden and Finland’s Nato accession, Turkey’s president has warned that Ankara could still block the process if the two countries fail to fully meet his expectations.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said at the close of the alliance’s summit in Madrid that the 10-article agreement with the Nordic pair was a victory for Ankara and addressed all its “sensitivities”.

He particularly stressed the satisfying of Turkey’s demand for Sweden and Finland to extradite terror suspects with links to outlawed Kurdish groups or the network of an exiled cleric accused of a failed 2016 coup in Turkey.

But Erdoğan added that if the two Nordic countries renege on their promises, Turkey’s parliament could refuse to ratify the deal reached on Tuesday. Nato accession must be formally approved by all 30 member states, which gives each a blocking right.

“This business will not work if we don’t pass this in our parliament,” Erdoğan said. “First, Sweden and Finland must fulfil their duties and those are already in the text … But if they don’t fulfil these, then of course there is no way we would send it to our parliament.”

Erdoğan claimed that Sweden had promised to extradite 73 “terrorists” to Turkey and crack down on the financing and recruitment activities of the Kurdistan Workers’ party (PKK) –– listed as a terrorist group by the US and the EU –– and linked groups. Turkey considers the Syrian Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) an extension of the PKK.

The text of the memorandum sets no specific number of extraditions. It says Finland and Sweden will address Turkey’s “pending deportation or extradition requests of terror suspects expeditiously and thoroughly, taking into account information, evidence and intelligence provided” by Turkey in accordance with the European convention on extradition.

On Wednesday, the Turkish justice minister, Bekir Bozdağ, said Sweden and Finland’s justice ministries have files from Turkey on 33 people with alleged links to PKK and the network of US-based Turkish cleric Fethullah Gülen.

Journalists repeatedly pressed Erdoğan on Thursday about the extraditions and whether Sweden had actually promised the number he cited. He said the number of extradition requests previously stood at 60 but had been updated to 73.

“Of course, what we understand is important from our meetings and talks,” Erdogan said. “Sweden promised to give us these 73 people with this text. They may or they may not, we will follow that through the text and we will make our decision.”

There was no immediate response to requests for comments from the Swedish delegation at the summit in Madrid.

The Swedish government has sought to allay concerns that the deal would lead to extraditions to Turkey without due process.

It's gonna be highly popular in Sweden when they round up 73 'refugees' and forcefully deport them for torture in Turkey-just to appease Erdogan, whom Swedes love. Totally worth it though, after all getting put on Russia's nuclear annihilation list is the goal.

Also Ukraine 'has no plans to put men on snake island at this time'. I would hope not, they would get bombed minutes after arrival.

Looks like the HIMARS has been used by Ukraine for the first time against Russian troops. I just love these videos. Russian soldiers, if you are lucky enough to survive getting hit by this, let us know how it feels to be on the receiving end

You are projecting again. I do apply this to everybody, you fail to apply this consistently to non-western actors like Russia, Turkey, China, etcetera as it does not serve your primary directive of anti-western bashing.

Yes western nations were the most powerful, hence their violence had much greater reach. But intrinsically our cultures were less violent and have become more so. This is why I have no tolerance for apologies for Black African slavery. If Black Africans could have reached Europe they would have done the same. What Europeans and the English and British in particular did is create the technological and economic basis for nicer moral values. If you have an agrarian economy you are going to have agrarian moral values. If you have horticultural economy you are going to have horticultural moral values.

All the moral carping against "evil White people" is based on an economy and a culture that these so called evil White people created. We like to talk about inalienable human rights. We have evolved to think of morals as absolutes. There is a name for people who apply moral relativism in their every day lives: psychopaths. its good that in every day life in modern western societies people treat morals as absolutes, that human life is sacred, that people including women have ownership of their own bodies. But once we move out of modern western societies, as we move out of peace into war and as we move back into history we can no longer afford moral absolutism, if we want to avoid falling into absurdity.

Taking 5-10 kilometres in 2-3 months while loosing offensive capability and sending 20-30 btgs for recovery is not exactly ass kicking while Ukraine just retreated in the end.

As much as you want to pretend like it's a great victory of some sort, it is just a village in the middle of nowhere in the end of the day. Nobody even knew it existed before the war.

At this pace Russia will run out of all of its ammo and equipment faster than it reaches any noteworthy city, heck they will run out of everything even before Kromatorsk/Slavjansk by the looks of it.

And let’s not forget that Ukraine inches closer to Kherson every day, which is the only state capital that Russia has been able to capture since the start of the invasion. If the Ukrainians liberate that, that would mean Russia controls none of the state capitals besides the ones in the quasi Donbas republics, which have been under their control since 2014.

In the meantime, Russia keeps bombing residential buildings daily with children in them. Social media is flooded with pictures of tiny children who were crushed and suffocated under the weight of rubble.

Ohh yeah, about the areas of Ukraine that Russia does occupy. Well, guess what? As I predicted, a partisan war has broken out there. Puppets of the Russian occupation installed by the Russian government are getting assassinated. Boy sure am glad it's not us having to occupy another country and deal with such a mess. Sucks to be Russia right now.

Oren Liebermann and Katie Bo Lillis of CNN wrote:US officials say a trio of assassination attempts targeting pro-Russian officials over the past two weeks suggests a burgeoning resistance movement against pro-Russian authorities occupying parts of southern Ukraine.

Oren Liebermann and Katie Bo Lillis of CNN wrote:The first attack in Kherson occurred on June 16, when an explosion shattered the windows of a white Audi Q7 SUV. The vehicle was left seriously damaged, but the target of the attack survived.
Eugeniy Sobolev, the pro-Russian head of the prison service in occupied Kherson, was hospitalized after the attack, according to Russian state news agency RIA Novosti.

Less than a week later, a second pro-Russian official in Kherson was targeted. This time, the attack succeeded. On June 24, Dmitry Savluchenko, the pro-Russian official in charge of the Department of Youth and Sports for the Kherson region, was killed, RIA Novosti reported. Serhii Khlan, an adviser to the head of the Ukrainian Kherson Civil Military administration, called Savluchenko a "traitor" and said he had been blown up in his car. Khlan proclaimed, "Our partisans have another victory."

Oren Liebermann and Katie Bo Lillis of CNN wrote:On Tuesday, the car of a third pro-Russian official was set on fire in Kherson, according to Russian state news agency Tass, though the official was not injured. It's unclear who committed the attacks.

There does not appear to be a central command guiding an organized resistance, officials said, but the attacks have increased in frequency, particularly in the Kherson region, which Russia occupied in March at the beginning of its invasion.

A source familiar with Western intelligence was more skeptical about whether the resistance could develop from partisan attacks to a more organized campaign capable of managing the attacks and supplying weapons and instructions.

So far, the resistance has not dented Russia's control over Kherson, the source familiar with Western intelligence emphasized.

But in the long term, the US assesses that Russia will eventually face a counterinsurgency from the local Ukrainian population.

"I think Russia is going to have significant challenges in trying to establish any sort of stable administration for these regions, because likely collaborators -- more prominent ones -- are going to be assassinated and others will be living in fear," said Michael Kofman, director for Russia studies at the Center for Naval Analyses, a Washington-based think tank.

It's a wrong approach if you try to read his mind, but you actually need to see things indeed. I guess you also believe the Ukrainians just forced the Russians to leave Snake Island and don't see anything more in it.

Beren the seer.

Ukraine did force the orcs to leave Snake Island. Their position became untenable. There's nothing more to it.

And Rugoz the non-seer, who doesn't see any connection between the Ukrainians being "forced" to leave Severodonetsk and the Russians being "forced" to leave Snake Island practically simultaneously.
