The weirdest explanation ever.

Ukraine got harpoons, that's the reason.

Is it really so weird to you indeed? The weird thing is that they got Harpoons and the Russians just ran away. Was there any fighting at all? Not much, for sure. The Ukrainians gave up Severodonetsk pretty much easily at the end as well, at least compared to their previous staunch resistance. Ukraine should also be expected to declare neutrality later, in exchange for their EU candidate status.

Eh...Ukraine sank a supply ship less than two weeks ago and has been shelling the island intensively.

I must have missed that, but I'm glad they took it finally anyway. :D

Lavrov obviously lives on another planet?

"Napoleon is at the annual military parade in Moscow, alongside Putin, engrossed in reading a newspaper. At his side, Marshal Ney blurts out to him, "Your Majesty, look! If only we had such guns, we would not lose Waterloo!"
Napoleon keeps reading. Ney blurts out again, "Your Majesty, look! If only we had such tanks, we would not lose Waterloo!" Napoleon only keeps reading. Ney blurts out the third time, "Your Majesty, look! If only we had such rockets, we would not lose Waterloo!"

Napoleon finally looks up from his copy of Pravda, and wistfully says to Ney, "If only we had russian media nobody would ever know that we lost Waterloo.

Took them some time?

Isn't this why NATO was created in the first place?

To keep Soviet communism out of Europe?

Of course, Russia isn't communist anymore. So I guess NATO was in reality created to gang-bang the rest of the world, as a kind of Colonial Countries United.

NATO countries simply want access to all the world's resources, and are willing to bomb anyone that wants a share of the pie. Russia's oil is supposed to be running our Dodge Rams for a buck a gallon!

As much as you want to pretend like it's a great victory of some sort, it is just a village in the middle of nowhere in the end of the day. Nobody even knew it existed before the war.

At this pace Russia will run out of all of its ammo and equipment faster than it reaches any noteworthy city, heck they will run out of everything even before Kromatorsk/Slavjansk by the looks of it.

>Takes 5 cities and numerous towns total pop 300,000 in 8 weeks in ukraines most densely populated region with 8 years worth defensive fortifications and 120,000 defenders, inflicting over 10,000 casualties/captures on ukrainian defenders

You: muh ukrainium winning

At this pace they will take the entire region before the end of the year and then it's nothing but open plains with all roads leading to the dniper.

Update:

You have realized by now that losing these cities and the line of towns just beyond it means losing all of eastern ukraine, right? These are/were strongholds.

Then they screwed it up big time, which you'd know if you were aware of gas prices.

Do you even still follow the news or you just bike and post your usual stuff?

Lol, lets not pretend that Russia didn't lost around 1 billion dollars worth of equipment holding that island which includes the Moskva, 5-10 Anti air systems, couple of other small ships and several radar systems.

Severodonetsk wasn't fortified for 8 years because it was not part of the frontline and Ukraine didn't loose 10k troops trying to defend Severodonetsk which are just numbers out of your ass.

The "Entire region" of Luhansk was alwyas like 1/15th of Luhansk itself since like February and even 2014. Sure, they might finish taking over all of Luhansk oblast but that is literally nothing considering it is just dozen of kilometeres that Russia bleeds for every day which is the main objective of Ukraine if you haven't noticed. They are trading ground and time for Russian blood on purpose, this has been abundantly clear for the last couple of months.

There were also no 120k defenders in Severdonetsk. That is just unrealistic for the size of the area, that would mean 5k troops per every kilometre of frontline in and around Severodonetsk. Those numbers would be higher or at the very least comparable to troop density during WW1 even if you consider several layers of defensive lines.

It is claimed that Ukraine lost close to %70 of its armed forces and fighters. Is Ukraine's main objective getting its army and volunteers slaughtered?

Zelensky shows terrible leadership. He is dragging a +40 million population nation into a national tragedy by trying to prolong the war. The thing you don't understand is if Russia gets into a bad position, Putin will not hesitate using tactical nuclear weapons. No Western weapon can save you from Putin.
