The fundamental problem is the separately elected executive Presidency. First off no official should be elected for more than a year. If the public can't be bothered to come out and vote at least once a year, then I don't really see how they can complain about politicians not following the will of the people.
Secondly we shouldn't have separately elected heads of government. this places too much power in one person. The head of government should be instantly replaceable by the members of the national parliament. These should be elected by proportional representation, which doesn't tend to encourage such a dumbed down politics, represents far greater nuance in public opinion and creates less powerful and less durable concentrations of power.
Using the courts does not solve the problem. It is seeking to get judges and juries to do the work of the electorate. But of course here many Democrats see a chance for electoral advantage by prosecuting Trumps. Both sides love the system when it gives them an advantage, but then hypocritically whine like bitches, when it goes against them.
We saw this in Britain with Thatcher in the nineteen eighties. Thatcher ruled for eleven years. She never had the support of the majority. She was never wanted by the majority of the electorate. For most of her time in office her support was in the low thirties. Naturally the left whined like bitches about Thatcher. But they didn't want to change the system, because they wanted a strong leader like Thatcher to dominate the country with out majority support, They just wanted it to be a left wing thatcher not a right wing one.

Progressives lie scattered on Woke's highway, Diverse ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.
