The US should boot Turkey from NATO, cut off all aid to Turkey, expel Turkish military people training in the US and arrest the Turkish spies we know are in the US.

Any engagement with Turkey was never more than an attempt to get a "good Islamic example" to parade around. Erdogan is a despot and a fool.

Not to mention the brutality that his security detail has committed on U.S. soil. In my opinion , as a repressive Islamist , Erdogan is what we'd have if the likes of Trump and Desantis were Muslim. This is what theocracy looks like. https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/09/turkish-president-erdogans-bodyguards-beat-up-us-protesters-again/ , https://heavy.com/news/2017/09/turkish-bodyguards-videos-beat-up-protesters-erdogan-turkey-assault-new-york-city-nyc/

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is believed to be changing the country’s strategy, with political analysts suggesting that his government has shelved recent attempts to re-engage with the US and Israel and has instead started a campaign to advocate for the protection of the Muslim world. In his speech to his party’s parliamentary group on Wednesday, Erdogan slammed Israeli forces for their attacks on Gaza and claimed that cutting off water and electricity “is not war, but massacre.”

“These are not reflexes of a state but of an organization,” he said, stressing that if Israel does not behave as a state but as an organization, then it too will be treated as an organization. After showing his proposal with maps for the establishment of a Palestinian state, he argued that if this does not happen, the existence of the state of Israel will be threatened and “the incidents that have broken out since last Saturday will not end and worse tragedies will follow.”

This was preceded by the Turkish president’s statements against the US, accusing it of “supporting and training and arming terrorist organizations” and that with the US aircraft carrier off Gaza “they will go on a massacre.” On Tuesday night, the Turkish leader had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and it seems the two leaders share the same view on the Middle East regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state, but blame Washington’s stance for the developments in the region.

Meanwhile, the Turkish daily Cumhuriyet published the response of Turkey’s Deputy Education Minister Nazif Yilmaz on X to a post by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showing the bombing in Gaza.

“One day they will shoot you too. You will die!” the Turkish minister wrote. By late Wednesday the message remained on X and had not been withdrawn. Support for Hamas has also been expressed by Republican People’s Party Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu and Future Party Chairman Ahmet Davutoglu. Two pro-Islamic parties HUDA PAR and Saadet are also planning a large rally in support of the Palestinians.

Political analysts contend that one of the main reasons why Ankara is not maintaining a neutral stance, as it did in the Russia-Ukraine war, is due to assessments in Ankara that the balance in the region is changing and that Turkey should play a leading role like Russia, Iran, Israel and the US.

All decisions of NATO have been made unanimous. Thats exactly why Turkey had to agree for Sweden and Finnland to join. So the only way to kick Turkey out of NATO is if Turkey themselves would want to leave.

Besides its a fight between USA and Turkey, and it doesnt look like Turkey was the one who started it. So why should other countries take any sides ?

Turkey has no place operating its drones and military around the neighborhood, like in Syria where she is bombing Kurds relentlessly.

Turkey just ethnic-cleansed Artsakh of Armenians and is openly questioning European borders as well.

You misinterpreted the events.

1. US-backed terrorist groups in northern Syria threatened Turkey. As a result of that, Turkey had to intervene.

2. Northern Syria was populated by Syrian Arabs before US-backed terrorists seized the land and ethnically cleaned them. If Turkey did not set a barrier there, millions of more refugees would be entered Turkey and Europe.

You should be thankful to Turkey.

American forces should leave the region immediately. Because a US jet can be shot down "mistakenly" just like a Russian jet was shut down in that way or a group of US soldiers can be shot dead "mistakenly".

So wait! Istumbuller is threatening the US militarily? The mouse that roared.

As to Erdogan speaking with Putin. I am puzzled by why anyone thinks Putin or Russia is relevant on the world stage anymore. They have gotten their ass handed to them by Ukrainian farmers. They can't sell their oil. Other than nukes that they cannot use, their military is the laughing stock of the world. Lichtenstein could kick their ass in a war. And this is the horse Erdogan wants to back?

As for booting Turkey from NATO. All the US has to do is cut them off from the American run technology chain and they are done. But maybe Erdogan can pivot and buy that great Russian military hardware. Oh wait again. There is no great Russian military hardware.

Your economic system is in tatters in Turkey, if you break up with either US or EU then you country is literally gonna burn economically without EU or US lifting a finger. Now that is not a good outcome for both US and EU since it will bring more problems but you get the point. I do care a bit that Erdogan is using his rhetoric to maintain himself in power using bullshit reasons in a very similar way that PUTIN is doing it and all of Turkey is paying the price for it 24/7 but it can be tolerated unless he crosses a line which I don't particularly know where it is.

So why do it over a drone :eh:
