looks like Armenia has made a deal to get Western replacement AD systems. It’s two birds with one stone for Armenia; both growing closer to the west and actually getting better AD systems.

This doesn't seem to be too true.

Israel and the US support Azerbaijan with some regularity in order to get cooperation on their anti-Iran agenda. It seems entirely possible that Armenia would eventually go firmly into the pro-Russia camp again one day in part due to this.

It's too unpredictable, I think, to come to such a conclusion.

I would not be surprised if the Russians did attempt to do this.

After all, it is what the United States does all over the world - it would be unjustly limiting themselves to not attempt to occasionally initiate such action. You have to fight with all the tools that your enemy uses when in a proxy war.
