According to African people, the reason why African nations are poor today is because the benevolent Europeans colonized them. They siphoned resources, put feuding tribes within the same borders of a colony, taught future African leaders how to be vicious, and tortured and impoverished the poor people of Africa. This then has led to civil wars and tyrannical African leaders which has made African nations poor today...

AND if none of this had happened... Africans nations would be one of the richest nations in the world today!

According to materials as organised on Wikipedia, various of sub-Saharan Africa entered iron age as early as 1000BC.

In some sense we can say Africa was, at least for a few hundred years, more technologically advanced than China.
