The great Conservative lie, that scantily clad women cause rape. Its the complete opposite. Its just in Conservative societies its hidden. Take Afghanistan the ultimate in so called female modesty. This is a country where boys can be kidnapped and raped with impunity and murdered if they try to escape. We've had a big furore over the Muslim rape gangs in Britain, but these are moderate Muslims. They mainly confine themselves to girls. The extremists will happily murder their child victims and go after boys as well as girls. in addition if a women did report a rape in Afghanistan, she would probably be murdered. Women in this environment are not likely to report rapes.

Western societies are immensely superior anti rape cultures, but paradoxically rape may appear more prevalent when the truth is the complete opposite. Most feminists today are Islamo-feminists. Lefties are far more interested in protecting Muslim terrorists and Black criminals than protecting women. The left's anti White hatred trumps everything else.

Islamic societies are not concerned with stopping rape, but they are obsessed with making sure that girls / women are only raped by their fathers, their brothers and their husbands.

Other Poll is based on something that is way too vague to answer. Rape is a very specific and serious form of 'sexual violence' akin to psychological GBH. The West is fairly good at disrupting that and all forms of serious crime both by having a reasonably well organised police forces, but also by educating against ideas that would justify GBH on sexist grounds (or other grounds eg race/religion).

The trouble is that Western efforts to de-legitimise sexual and other violence are based on individual consent and rights, which is pretty reasonable in itself, but it is common for people to fail to appreciate that these concepts are radically individualistic. I think that focusing on individualism as the basis for legitimate sexual behaviour probably confuses young men more than it helps them to understand how to behave sexually, and has probably also undermined traditional models of Western male sexual restraint, but it is a crazy stretch to call that a Western rape culture (also that is kind of offensive to cultures which are genuinely rape cultures and proud of it :P eg). If we want to genuinely reduce rapes and to improve discourse between young men and women about sexual behaviour then we need to focus more on sexual ethics in our education, and when teaching sexual ethics we need to be more humane in our approach to individual responsibility. Young men have to understand better why it is male behaviour that needs the focus of restraint ie the fact that sex is a very common cause of serious violence that is overwhelmingly committed by men, but people in general need to understand why it is so important that young men take their sexuality seriousy ie to help them, in as humane a way as possible, to learn to be responsible for their sexual behaviour.

I agree that ultimately, again in irony, it is feminist social reforms that has created poor relations and understanding between men and women these days. I find men and women these days are lashing out angrily at one another because relationship and one another to them just do not make sense. In turn this is what produces a toxic destructive environment. Feminist only see one side of the issue, that their ideology itself has created and now is attempting to fix with late feminism by calling out "toxic male masculinity" by blaming men for all the ills of modern socially destructive atmosphere.

Side note, the only time I've ever been catcalled by a women was when I was in high school. I had just finished getting a hair cut, and was walking back home with a friend of mine. From a car, a woman reached out to me, and tried to grab my ass and yelled "Give me that ass!" (In Spanish). My friend laughs and said "it must be the haircut."

You are applying double standards there then. This is contradictory to core feminist ideal of treating men and women as equals.

Perhaps you never got catcalled by ladies, but it does happen and I find it rude. At the same time I had experience where a friend girl was being catcalled by guys in passing car and I wanted to stand up for her but she stopped me halfway, saying it was cool, they should do it more. To say the least she was a girl on a wild side. You see how women themselves at times perpetuate this bad behavour, because at that time she legitimized that behavour not just for herself but also for me.
